There is an office in Kyrenia. Don't kow where you are coming from, but it is the same office as where one gets road tax etc.

On the main top road (the road which has the water fountain on the corner of Baris Sokak, and opposite of which is Baris Parc which is being renovated, as you go past the fountain roundabout towards the main roundabout which takes you left to the harbour or right to Lefkosia, take the first left after the fountain, and the office is on the corner down there about 100 or so metres.

The office is open a.m., and again some afternoons.

Often there is virtually no one there, so no need to rush.

Hope that helps.

Or you can go to Lefkosia, but that is more difficult to find.

Just take your old KKTC licence and your passport (for good measure) - they will tell you what form to fill in when you get there.

I've just renewed mine at the driving school & licence office in Girne. Same road as the police station & Wednesday market road. As you enter the road the office is the first on the left. The ladies speak perfect English & you need to take your current TRNC licence & your passport which they will retain and return the following day.

Don't go to the driving school - they will just chanrge you a small fee to do it. The tax/driving licence office is about 100m from the driving school. You are basically paying them to walk 100m!!

O.K. sorry if I confused.

1. The paperwork is as stated above - old licence and passport.

2. Coming from Bahceli you will need to go round the roundabout and turn back to main roundabout and take first left. You can't cut across the road with the silly concrete slabs in the middle.

Does that make sense.

And I agree, you don't want to pay out money un ecessarily.

But please check as to where yo pick it up. Last time I went I went to Lefkosia so had to go and collect it from there, so please ask the nice lady behind the desk in Kyrenia.

By the way, not sure what is onoffer now, but when we went it was 1 yr, 3 yrs or 10yrs. I went for the 10 years to save the hassle. I just got to live long enough to reap the rewards.

Good luc\ki
