These are people that make negative posts about TRNC, because they can`t get their head around the fact that it`s the Middle East and not Middle England.

Is it classed as the Middle East or the Near East, this is a genuine inquiry as some of the military units in Cyprus has Near East in their titles.

It doesn't blinkin matter what 'East' it is...... these dimwits should get it into their heads that this is a small outpost of moslem Asia - not Newcastle or Birmingham and that we are guests here. Get used to it or get the next plane back to the UK.

Now, now, now, dear Brits! Be nice to silly other Brits - or you may be accused of being anti-British (like me if I had written one of the posts above...).

rowlo, You just made my day 200% better, nearly fell off chair laughing. Then Hans comes along and makes it even better. Well done both of you, I think there is at least one very red faced, possibly 2 elswhere on the forum today. This is our home and the reason we came is the quirkiness, friendliness of Cypriot people, third world living etc. Not the silly people who think, as many have already said, this is Middle England.

what a great posting. i used to live in a quaint rural surrey village and watched its slow demise from being a genuine wholesome cross section of british rural society to a ghetto for rich townies who complained about anything and everything! i fear the same is happening here. can we not start some sort 'culling' scheme for these subversive elements who want to turn the trnc into an outpost of knightsbridge

Lem, that is so funny. My son is in Australia at the moment (4th time - year out - except he's nearly bloody 30 years old). I'm sure he would find this as amusing as I have. Thanks - I laughed out loud because that's exactly what I could imagine the Ossies saying Kind regards. Jean
