Is there a flying club at Ercan airport that hires out decent light aircraft?

Probably know the answer to this one!, if the answer is yes is it a problem flying in the South?

Now I do not know for sure but I would say that there is not a flying club as they had issues with parapenting. As for flying to the south it would be no chance. We have been after direct flights for years. All aircraft have to come and go via Turkey.

Don't know about here but there is certainly private flying at Larnaca airport.

Colly,

The rule about landing in Turkey only applies to commercial aircraft, not private ones. I can't imagine getting clearance from south to north and back, though.

Reading your previous posts. I think you are a commercial airline pilot?

If you are... I should direct your question to PPRuNe. You may get an answer there

I think Asil Nadir flew direct in a private aircraft once?

Some years ago the UK authorities tried to 'bang up' Asil Nadirs' pilot for bringing him to TRNC but that went nowhere.

Pprune probably won't know the answer, I just wondered if I could come over on holiday and hire a little piper warrior or something to enjoy the scenery.

Having flown into Larnaca numerous times , there most certainly is a flying club there but its a bit of a trek from Kyrenia sadly, oh well it was worth asking though1

Message 4, I am guessing it would cover all types of transport (except cars etc at the crossing points) as you cannot sail direct either.
