Mike, if you find them, can you buy some (a bag?) for me too? I'll collect them next Tuesday at Guido's, OK?

Couldn't find in Pound shop.

When to another place, apparently one distributor in TRNC,he has a container arriving and will start distributing Monday.

So when I find,I'll get some for Hans, but maybe not this Tuesday.

Agree with yorgozlu.

My grandmother told me years ago about using crushed egg shells.

Also deters cats from using the soil around plants as a toilet.

Ashamed at you all for using them. What goes around comes around, by that I mean, whatever eats the slugs, will, in turn, be poisoned too!!!! Hedghogs, birds etc; Very bad for the environment. Best remedy is to dig small hole, place tupperware tub in it and fill with beer, lager etc; slugs love this and drown once pissed. Better than dying a long, slow agonising death by pellets and no harm done to other welcome creatures. Please think before you act and be responsible gardeners. NOT a waste of good beer either before any of you start.

Mitsi,I am a very green gardener, yes I use crushed egg shells, and slug traps are on the way from UK.

I have not seen any slug eating birds, nor hedgehogs in my garden in Lapta. Each morning I clear lots of snails from my seed bed,and if I am to have flowers to produce pollen for the bees, drastic action is needed.Rest assured if I do see a dead bird or hedgehog I will stop using the pellets.

Mike

Like dogs finding poison they seldom die at that spot but crawl off in agony and die somewhere else. You may unwittingly be killing birds , hedghogs etc which are dead away from your garden, maybe thats why you have not found any slug eating birds or hedgehogs.

A very good method is to dig a small hole, put a plastic cup in it then fill with Efes ( this is the only purpose it's fit for ) the slugs will flock to it, drink, fall in and die happy.

Regards

Codger
