I actually thought people would like to refer to this later on and added it to the "Popular Posts" page.

We did lots of looking around & asked our solicitor & friend in Northern Cyprus ,all said stay away from HSBC,they are n0t the same s in UK.

We ended up opening an account with Iktisatbank. They are in the middle of Girne .They have their own English speaking dept on 1st floor.Opened a sterling a/c & Turkish Lira a/c.We have internet access so can go online to check our a/c.you can have standing orders out of these a/c to pay bills etcalso get debit cards and they also do a great deal on contents insurance.Hope this helps
