Hi Stewart,

From Esentepe take the coast road to Kyrenia, when you reach the T junction past the Acapulco Holiday Village turn left, this road will take you up and over the mountain. You will pass a restaurant on the left at the top of the mountain and a quarry on your right on the way down the mountain. Keep on this road passing through the military base and when you reach the roundabout turn left. Carry on this road for approximately 2 miles and you will see the signs for the airports, Ercan is the 2nd slip road. Keep to the right hand lane, carry on this road for 5 miles and you will come in to the airport.

But if you don't want to go the long way. From Esenteppe, go down to Acupulco Rd. turn right towards Tatlisu, about 11 miles. When you can't go any further forwared, turn right. Go over the mountain and turn first right onto dual carrigeway. This roads takes you straight to Ercan.

Hi Stewart,

I live in Esentepe and the way I have given is the shortest route.

I think Denizen means the Accapulco road towards Tatlisu then right to Getcikale however that is the longer route, might be quicker from Tatlisu was but not Esentepe, that road from Getcikale to Ercan is longer than you think.

The Butler's Wife route is the shortest to Ercan from Esentepe by quite some margin.

The other way is the best for going to Gecitkale and on to Larnaca via Dortyol and the Beyarmudu/Pyla crossing.
