been listening and reading all week about the desperate financial situation liverpool fc are in . david moores the former owner has been forced to come clean and give his version of events that led to him selling the club to yanks hicks and gillett ahead of the dubai consrtium DIC. three years after doing so the club are facing administration ! yes administration . the club owe banks RBS and wichovia £352 million and have other loans ( which its reported they have defaulted on paying ) of £122 million pounds taking their debt level to £474 million ! . the clubs accountants KMBG have put out warnings that it is uncertain the club can continue to trade as a going concern. with no champions league revenue next season after finishing seventh it looks like one of the big boys are going under .

Wise up Andy,The Glazers are killing the greatest club in the world. They are just blood sucking leaches that are bleeding dry the life and soul of the club that i have supported since i was a small boy.United fans need to vote with their feet to rid the club of these parasites.I have been a season ticket holder at United for many years, but will n ot be attending this season. The place now has the atmosphere of a library.I will always support United as the club is in my blood, but will no longer attend while the yanks are present.Get yourself down to Gigg Lane and support F.C.United of Manchester,

Grey.

Grey, how much money are the Glazers taking out of the club? It's a serious question, I don't know the answer.

I got the impression that they were putting money in... but I'm probably wrong.

steve mate . united have debt like most clubs in europe but its managable debt . today it was announced our debt level is down to £520 Million and will decrease each year during next decade . these people who buy clubs are astute buisiness minds and dont have 100 billion pounds under the bed , thank god hicks and gillett are not our owners .

i will never go and and watch that crap at gig lane by the way

long live mufc and the trnc

Andy,

I dont mean for you to go and watch Bury (no offence to them) i mean for you to go and watch the team that were founded by Man United supporters when the parasites took over the greatest football club in the world.F.C. United are run and owned by the supporters. Please take your head out of the sand, and take in what is really going on at Old Trafford.I am United fan mate and have no axe to grind with you at all,

Grey.

Andy f; economical with the truth somewhat

Uniteds debt is indeed £520 million PLUS £225 million in PIK loans that from August will have to be paid at 16.25% for a minimum of 5 years.

Do the arithmetic

It's not pretty.

dearest andyf

have to agree with grey m8. glazers need to go .They are destroying the club ,slowly..

The debt being "manageable" is a great way to looking at it lol.

any business needs cash flow and we have to have success to feed the cash ,that feeds the repaymenst in interest etc etc .The very fact that no investment has come for 2 years from them ,yet selling the "silver" in ronanldo and getting none of the money suggests deeper problems .

having said that this year they ahve to buy ,and buy big or they will have more of a revolt newt years .

the atmosphere is dead i agree ,but thats footy now and corporate selling ....look around its all kids and women so you wont get the old "scoreboard ,or united road days" .

all said though united are a major asset the glazers own ....they have been offered 1.5billion from quatar royal family ,1billion from fan based "red knights" yet wont sell ....so at least they are for the long haul ,good or bad ?

What crime have the Glazers committed? They seem to have got a hot-bed of anti's who really don't have any meaningful basis for their stance.

They simply didn't like the glazers from day one on the basis that they knew nothing about football. I don't see any evidence of asset stripping and the club seems to be doing very nicely thank you, so just what have they done? Sir Alex seems happy enough with their stewardship... what is he missing that all the malcontent do not?

I'm really interested to know if this is a real concern or a bunch of trouble makers stirring up trouble for no good reason. Other than they don't really understand how football finance works...

tell you that they have done from a fans point that was disliked .

automatic ticketing ....you buy a season ticket and you attend league matches only ,pay in advance for your games .then they change rules and say for every cup game thats at home (whether you want to or not) we automatically take the money in full for the game you may not wish to attend .

you then have 2 options ,attend or sell the ticket back to club at reduced rate for them to sell it to fans who wish to attend .

im not anti glazers because they are yanks ,im a football fan that has stood there since i was 5 .

club is achieving on the pitch over 20 years ,thats fergie .

club has become global brand ,thats the business men .

finance is one thing i agree ,and they have profit in the club so hey ho .....i think some worry because of richness man city ?

Just as the riches of Man City came, they can go... if the current owner gets fed up he'll be off with his bottomless pockets and onto the next whim... Boys with toys are fickle.

The Glazers are in it a business proposition much more stable I would think...

As a Liverpool fan andy-f i too am glad you got the Glaziers. We all know how much debt Liverpool are in but United are edging towards twice as much debt. When the loan repayments become due that United hold, some £72,000,000 in the next year alone, then you might want to change your mind.

And by the way, i'm with you wishing the ' yanks ' would go home, they have no interest in football, they are only in the game for what they can get out of it, even if that means bringing down great clubs.

kav, i must be missing something here. Can you explain how being 474mill in dept is worse than being 745mill in debt. The school i went to has really messed my life up if you are right.

To be honest guys i can honestly see Liverpool following in the foot steps of that once great team,Leeds United.Top players want to play in the Champions league, all this kissing the badge doesnt wash with me.Unfortunateley, players are only in it for one thing and thats the money. How many boyhood teams has Robbie Keane had now,it stinks,

Grey.

poor results will give poor revenue .

saving grace is gerard off to real madrid so will bring you cash ,rafa staying so thats great for united fans lol

torres being sniffed at with chelsea and man city (but he will stay as part of tapas army)

same will happen at OT .fergie goes soon ,results will go down a bit and team rebuilds i supoose

kav, just seen on the news that the ' Red Knights ' have pulled out of the deal to buy Man u. They have valued the club at 1.5 billion dollars, but your owners are saying that they want 2.5 billion. Now considering that some £50 million of the £225 million that was raised in the bond issue, was used to pay the ' Directors ' bonuses, and the fact that they seem now to be overvalueing the club by a massive amount. It may not be Liverpool that is in the most trouble. So as the title of this thread says ' I'm glad you got the Glaziers and we got Gillett and Hicks '

News this morning says Uniteds debt is believed to be some £450 million higher than previously stated. This will explain why the ' Red Knights ' last week pulled out of their bid for the debt ridden club. The total debt that United owe is £1.5 billion and the city says that the Glazers have not got the assets to pay down this amount of debt. Maybe another rights issue will be on the way, but anyone stupid enough to buy these bonds given the recent news would be better off buying a villa off plan in the TRNC.
