Looks like Turkey could be turning its back on the west to become the super power of the middle East.Ottaman empire part 2 perhaps.I certainly dont think that this is a wind up,

Paul.

It stated on Sky news that the Turkish PM is visiting Gaza.

He is travelling by sea and is being escorted by the Turkish navy.

Could be the fighter jets are on standby should there be any problems?

Having read the full thread - seems a LOS to me.

If the airforce are gathering, surely someone would have seen the planes coming over - you see almost all commercial flights - unless of course they approached from the South.

Any one seen / heard any?? Didn't think so

Watching BBC news at the moment. Nothing about this at all. There is also another thread running on a similar subject, with comments relating to this 'situation'. It's the one about the Turkish PM travelling to Gaza.

NB Also nothing on Sky News/Website.

The article on other forum has been removed as it is most obviously a hoax.

Afraid it was obvious from first reading and such things should be fully checked by everybopdy before spreading around. This is how wars do get started.

why would the turkish air force move a sqaudron of F16s into the public domain ? they have seveal air bases on the mainland that are ten mins at most at mach 1.2 . at dalaman airport where we touched down it has a military air section that you can see right into when your plane is taking off ,these are hardend hangers for F16s . has far as i could see there was not one aircraft outside .

imho , if the military take over any airport , shipping port , said ports are closed to everyone , except military personell, they are locked down , ie ,all staff are withdrawn, nobody is allowed airside or seaside unless youre military , ercan has one way in and one way out , in short american aircraft carriers have more capability than ercan , and turkey certainly have more capable bases than an american aircraft carrier , ercan is not geared up for military strikes .
