Yes Folks, for those that have thought I was ..... well I am fed up of those comments. Here is the next auction.

The next property auction is scheduled to take place in Esentepe on Sunday the 4th July 2010. This sale is the result of a dispute between the 2 directors of Fatisa Construction and 7 properties sold by them in Tatlisu are involved. A further auction of Fatisa properties may take place later in July.

This from post this morning on HBPG site. http://www.hbpg-trnc.net/documents/auctions.html

Obviously this is early info and if or when I get any more I will post.

Do we know who the two directors of Fatisa are? Kulaksiz used to be heavily involved with them (I think they built for them or vice versa) and one of the Kulaksiz 5 residents bought their house through Fatisa.

Ferdi Topuz is one, the other I remember as Bilal, but his full name escapes me. Bilal is currently a partner at the Bektas Supermarket in Karaoglanoglu (ex Fatisas).

The plot thickens.

Good luck.

About 11.30 this morning I wrote and requested this be made a sticky!!!!!!!

So looks like, here we go again with back to the top.

After I mention that there is an investigation currently going on regarding notices of auctions this coming sunday, 20th June. There are 2 notices one either end of country but we have not got a definitive as to if these are normal eviction auctions or part of the on going. So be on alert for turn out on sunday.

Just for the record I wasn't suggesting there was anything fishy going on just that it seems to me that the bad 'uns stick together.

nareik,

I have to be honest, it is other people who do the digging, they know where to look. I just type the info as sent back to me.

If this auction comes to fruition someone else will have to push over the last week I have to go to England for a week, I hate it but my parents will shoot me if I do not arrive for their 60th wedding anniversary.

So far it looks like my request for sticky has fallen on stony ground.

There appears a ground swell of people on the forum wanting action of sorts.

From experience of "demonstrations" with loads of notice etc, the last one we went to - there was 4 of us!!!! I think the max number of British people at such an event over last 4 years - 25.

By not living there , there are lots of us i'm sure who feel a little frustrated by not being able to give our support in person , do you think another on-line petition would be of use ? , any publicity surely would be better than none !

Personal view only.

We have had no success with personal letters, with pounding the press, these forums etc. A petition is just another "piece of paper".

A suggestion, contact embargoed in London and see what they suggest. I am sure if they received enough contact they may be able to organise some thing. This is a personal view and I cannot be certain of response. I do know that Ipek Ozerim is fully aware from her article in CT on 22 May.

Her contact from ct column is ipekh@excite.com or check out the embargoed web site - http://www.embargoed.org/about_us.php

The more of us that hunt around for ideas the more likely we are as an unattached group of foreigners to find a medium to make the biggest noise - legally of course!!

Good luck if you decide to accept this mission. This msg will self destruct in 5 seconds.

Anyone who can attend MUST. We need a show of strength in numbers to let the government know this CAN't continue. It's not just an ex-pat or TC problem, it's a problem of national humanity.

When the estate agents law came out to prevent people mortgaging land, hundreds of people found out their sites were mortgaged. Myself included, with Seatera Reserve to the tune of £2million (without interest). But now it also appears that if a landowner owes money to another, the debtor can get a memorandum against that land, which overrides the contract you have registered. It seems now that registration of contracts does not take precendence to registered contracts. That means that ANYONE who doesn't have their kocans could be in the same situation!

For those that don't have their Kocans and whose properties are, currently, unencumbered - try asking the Kocan titleholder to assign 'Power of Attorney' to you, to enable you to sell your property - and see what his/her response will be!

This is getting quite an international feel to it now. Sunday before last, mainly British whose homes were up for auction, last Sunday, mainly TCs and July 4th (according to Cyprus Today, reported in NCFP) Russians.

So is this how it works in the TRNC?

1. You find a property you like and pay the agreed price and move in (you have not bought off plan though)

2. You have registered your contract with the District Lands office and put your feet up awaiting your permission to purchase.

3. The person you have bought the property from owes money to a third party, who gets a memorandum put on your new home.

4. At a local coffee shop one morning your property is auctioned off to pay your sellers bad debts.

5. You are made homeless before getting your PTP.

If my understanding is correct (and I am sure\hope someone will tell me i've got it wrong)then there is no hope....Michael

Best description of TRNC property buying I have seen for a while.

Auction on 4th July is currently still on. As above these are Russian buyers and given they are now the next largest group of home buyers they need full support.

Just think if we all turn out to help on their site how many more there will be on our next auction.

The auctions on sunday 20th June, we can find no further info on them and nobody has come forward on requests to give information.

The assumption is therefore that these plots are standard auctions and we will probably not be needed. If we find out anything different of course the info will appear asap.

spider, it seems the owners of the forum are refusing by default the request to make sticky. I have had no reply to e-mail so have no reason.

4th July Esentepe Auction! Everyone come along for a fun day out for all the family. BBQ, refreshments, a big fat inflatable Gary Robb bouncy castle for all the kids. (Actually some of the adults might want to have a go at this too.) Many of the unscrupulous lawyers, estate agents, landowners, bankers, developers will be having Its A Knockout Monopoly Competition - proceeds are promised to go to the homeless. (Can you guess who's going to be the banker?) Stocks will be set up after monopoly to place the unscupulous in, then we can soak our worthless contracts in tar&feathers and throw them at them. Raffle, again all proceeds will go to the homeless, of which there'll be many soon. Can Cyprus44 members come along to do their bickering with each other actually at the auction, this will increase the numbers of support tenfold. I'm reliably informed by one of my contacts (quite a buxom lady) that many of the women supporters will be topless to make a point (actually 2 points). Come along

If you are playing Monopoly may I suggest all the community chest cards are Get out of Jail varieties and a slight twist in the rules would allow you to take out a mortgage on one of your opponents properties.

Hey Billy, why not patent a TRNC version of Monopoly, I am sure it would go down a bomb.

Great idea guys, I'm on to it. And I'm also going to make another change to the monopoly game and that being that no one is allowed to purchase the electric or water card for several years! Also, when you pass Go, you're supposed to get £200 penalty payments, but on this new improved TRNC Monopoly game, you get Jack S**t

can we have some realism? Can all the builders of the property have "get out of jail free", cards too?

Fatisa as a company no longer exists the partners names were Ferdi Topuz and Bilal Yidirim, i know of no one that did not have a problem purchasing from these two, houses built without permits, money taken for electricity instalation never to be connected, houses not built as per plan, mortgages on the land, refusing to pay taxes resulting in the lucky few that did receive their kokcans having to pay the builders as well as their own taxes v.a.t. etc. I understand that Bilal is about to start construction of new builds on the sea side in Karsiyaka so unless you want your fingers burned steer well clear. A spell behind bars is what these two deserve. Rob.

Bradus, WE can't have a jail on the TRNC monopoly game! What were you thinking?

coolrob, Thanks for the info, keep it coming. Looks like another two guilty of fraud.

So at all three auctions no sign of Lawyers, Estate Agents, Developers etc offering there support. We assume that they don't care, why should they, afterall the Lawyers are now making money from litigation despite many of them having no litigation skills, the Estate Agents are now making money from rentals and maintaining complexes, the Developers can make money from mortgages. Who's given them this new second chance to earn even more cash? We have! How stupid are we? So as long as they can tick over until the next housing boom when there will be a new set of punters, there happy. Just my opinion.

Mmmm, I did post earlier but it has not appeared.

I did ask, as the original poster for this to be made a sticky, but it seems it is like writing to the president of TRNC you get ignored.

The exact location of auction I know not at present but as soon as someone finds out it will be posted.

Hopefully with the notice given of auction a more sensible approach will be taken than with the rogue bank Akfinans and the auction will be cancelled.

I saw the two auctions in Karsiyaka and Catalkoy displayed on the board outside of the Tapu office, but the last I heard was that the HBPG was trying to find out more details and it was thought that these were probably bona fide auctions, so people have not been encouraged to go along. The next scheduled one is still the Esentepe one on July 4th involving Russians, but there was a front page article in Saturday's Cyprus Today where the Construction Contractors' Union is urging the government to take the debt from the banks and plan repayment by the debtors. The chairman of the union says that they know that the government is working on something but there are no details as yet. We will wait and see.

AS OF 22ND JUNE, THIS AUCTION IS POSTPONED PENDING FURTHER DISCUSSIONS.

Please keep reading the forums and http://www.hbpg-trnc.net for news of auctions as info becomes available.

Whatever you do, keep the pressure on where you can, this problem is not going away any time soon.

Auctions are just the tip of the iceberg in TRNC as regards problems so continue to share any info you have to help stop others from falling into the same traps.
