What is the significance of "RAF"?

Why doesn't your message just read:

"Family urgently require...."etc???

I apologise for confusing you though my bad typing.

I was inputting the posting and I hit a wrong key and it froze - I then realised that the posting had completed. So I had to do another one - Please refer to the other one

The reason for the statement being made as it was is because the person who is looking for a home joined the RAF when he was 18 and has spent 22 years in the British Forces in the RAF and left Akrotiri last week with his wife, child and pets and does not have a home. He has been looking for a home for some time now but so far has failed.

asking too much for wat he wants to spend maybe leave the pool out and he can afford it as theres lots of properties available without pools that are reasonably priced FOR THE TIME OF YEAR that is

Hildy Smith, I think maybe Geoff (correct me if I'm wrong) is getting at the fact that repatriation usually takes place on discharge after quarters or hirings are signed back in to the families office when inspection has taken place and inventory checked.

Why do you mention a RAF family? what't that got to do with it.

They are a family like any other, so why should they be treated any differently?

Because James Talbot the gentleman in question has finished 22 years serving his country making sure that the United Kingdom citizens are protected from unfriendly extremist countries and dictators 24 hours a day 7 days a week and never allowed to voice opinions like "what't that got to do with it. Why should they should be treated any different".

That statement does provoke resentment, especially when many of us who have retired from all of the armed forces are here. No one mentioned the words "please treat differently". It just says that help is required. I wonder if HildySmith said "Lottery winner from England" your reaction would be any different. Probably not.

Its precisely the kind of projected response you'd expect from ignorance I'm sorry to say.

If mine was ready then they could have that.

Ex RAF means he has disipline, standards, is reliable and is used to keeping property not belonging to him in good order. I would put them before a lot of the chancers i have read about on this forum. Good luck to him and his family and shame on those thinking Ex RAF So What!!!

Mesaage 10 I still stick with my comments, about the Nurses, Doctors, Social workers, Support workers and numerous others that have served their country at home.

I did say I wish them good luck, as I would with any family.

Also I have just finished 34 years in the NHS and Social Services.

Regards

So if it was said an ex British social worker was looking for a home what would be the problem with that? Apart from deadly silence on the board.

Perhaps a DIY fanatic to maintain a home would go down very well, With interest in gardening, would help other in the future..perhaps being more specific may help.

Many thanks everyone for your assistance. They now have a home and are moving in tomorrow. They have a villa in Alsancak with lovely views and it is ideal for the daughter and the cats.

Once again

THANKYOU!!
