No flights from N Ireland to N Cyprus

Just found out lately that there are no longer any flights from Belfast N Ireland to Ercan N Cyprus. It now means when i want to go to N Cyprus i must fly to the mainland and get connecting flights from London, Manchester etc. Im gutted, does anyone know if any other airline company will be filling the slot. I can fly to Larnaca from Belfast but prefer to fly to Ercan.

We were the same. No flights and we live in Liverpool. We are having to get to Luton then Larnaca. There were flights from Manchester but the prices were ridiculous. Really wanted to fly to Ercan but they are makiing it increasingly difficult so I can understand your frustration.

We can only hope that direct flights from the UK to Ercan really do happen one day, and you can help make it happen! As Sungoddess has mentioned in a previous post, if you are a UK resident, you can sign an online petition for direct flights to Ercan airport in North Cyprus; the link is http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Direct-Flights/. Also if you are an ex-pat living in N Cyprus, you can also sign the petition, so click away - the petition closes on 5 April 2007. At present there are only 7,000 signatures, so every new one counts.

Hi Cyprus Kathy, yes we have already signed it. and a few friends as well(hoping for a free holiday me thinks) but it would be good to have a few more flights into Ercan rather than flying into Larnaca. Just waiting for the day when we can retire!
