Hi all,

Having a few problems with dogs eating hatchling turtles and digging up nests on Karsiyaka/Guzelyali (apologies if spelt that wrong!) beach.

We are not sure if they are strays or if they belong to someone who is walking them off-lead.

Just wanted to say PLEASE if you do walk your dogs in that area please can you keep them on-lead, just until end of September. Even if your dog is perfectly trained you may not realise its picked up a baby turtle until its too late, but if your dogs on lead it's easier to see what they're up to and stop them before they pick anything up.

Thanks

Andrea and Tricia

I think you will find it is the 2 or 3 strays that frequent the area and can not read the sign posts

john good - we are aware of the strays and there is nothing we can do about them. However, we can ask the people who are still walking their dogs on the beach to please keep them on a lead for the next couple of months.

Another reminder - as the British dog owner that I spoke to this morning was not aware of the problem.

PLEASE - keep your dog off the beach (or on a leash) until the end of September.
