It seems to me that Lilli (and others) always used to get bit of a bashing about her supposed constant promotion of Guidos and a new rule was then introduced that Restaurants/businesses were only allowed 1 thread a day. This is fair enough, but surely shouldn't the same rule apply to certain individuals who are constantly on this board promoting themselves (and indirectly the venues)?

At the moment there seems to be several threads running which are dominated by a certain person and constantly advertising what they are doing and where it will be done! Apart from having it shoved down our throats, is this fair on other businesses who are limited to the 1 thread?

Yes i think it would be great to know what is on the Menus and what each and every bar restaurant hotel club has to offer great information and very helpful because if some get it wrong it great to no so it can be corrected our tourist in take is down big time this year so at the moment positive information would be great so if people are looking to see what Northern Cyprus has to offer it would be all positive and a great mix of things on offer as there are not two bars Restaurants Hotels Clubs the same they are all different some like one some like another but it is great to no........now that is what forums are for information help and advise just remember if you do not want to read a post then don’t ...but do not start to run everyone down just because your not interested one day you may need the information ........

sorry paul and park lane i didnt see your posts until now. Parklane i have to agree with you but the amount of stick i took from a few spoilt it for all the people who loved seeing the menus. Then I answered two questions asked of me and the posts just dissapeared. So I though WHY. Paul the menu last night was King prawns in white wine and garlic sauce, Aspargus and Parma Ham, Smoked salmon and cream cheese with chives, followed by Prime fillet steak with a sauce of your choice or chicken in pepper sauce, fresh calamari, a choice of deserts. Good luck parklane, i only hear good reports about you and hope one day to get the chance to come up x

Well done Ella....the voice of sanity prevails and your sentiments are one hundred percent correct so I hope that the FA's will uphold the rules for ALL.

Parklanecyp is only after self promotion like others on this forum who flaunt the rules and from the evidence of awful grammar and spelling it would appear may well be related to Lilli.

Silverfox

You have an opinion to which you are of course entitled. However, do you have to make your feelings felt in such a demeaning manner ??

May I remind you of a post of yours - see message 21 of the attached.

http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/22409.asp

I quote:

Vaughan, Why are you so pompous, discourteous and demening to other people on this board especially as you treat it as an extension to your own business which surely should not be allowed?

Pot, kettle methinks !!

Before you ask, no, I am not a member of the Lilli fan club and have eaten at Guido's only once, although to be fair, I thought that the food was good.

I could also mention that in your post directed at Vaughan, you spelt demeaning incorrectly but that would be just petty

Good manners costs nothing my friend.

Regards

Paul

Point well made and point taken Paul.

The sentiment and content however remain unblemished.

Yes, well put Paul, and I'm afraid Silverfox's reply was nothing more than a cop-out.

Silverfox, your words may remain unblemished to you, but others may consider they need a good blemishing. Apart from a certain Dutchman's, not many eyes are drawn as quickly as mine to errors of spelling, punctuation and grammar, and I found myself wishing for a few periods to break up Debbie's monolithic sentences.

But as with many other posts, I just read them and moved on. You, however, seemed to feel it necessary to be downright nasty, and to two people at that.

Why would you do that?

I agree with top ten a bit of free publicity why not what is the problem, it makes me laugh when people post on football threads saying there are too many and they are fed up and they should be banned. The solution is easy if you are not interested then dont post simple

My post wasnt about not supporting businesses! I personally think that all the businesses here should get as much help as they can. If you actually read my post it was about certain individuals, who seem to be on numerous threads with constant self-promotion and very large egos and through this non-stop posting, certain venues are receiving a lot of advertising. As I pointed out, if other people (ie Guidos etc) did this, then the threads would probably be closed. If people are working here and gaining from that constant self-promotion, how is that any different from someone like Lilli or Parklane?
