Hi Zoony,

You should be able to ride a scooter with your British driving license - my driving license was issued in 1983 and states that I can drive/ride vehicles A and E ... and E means a scooter ... by the way, I'm the mad-looking Brit on the white 49cc Honda

I enquired about this last year and although I never got it confirmed but I believe you can only go up to 50cc on a car licence. I would be interested to know if this was the wrong information.

Take care that they have transferred your Motor Bike UK license to your Cypriot license as it is an automatic fine and 3 month ban if you ride a scooter without the correct licence even if you have passed your test in the UK.

Hi Zoony .The UK licence will only cover you for a 50 cc moped (scooter) unless you taken a UK motorcycle test, and then the 50cc rule only applies if you have held a full uk car licence from before June 2000.

If you have a Cypriot licence the 50cc rule does not apply and you must take a test but then you could ride bigger engined scooters and bikes. if you have a full uk driving licence and want a 50cc scooter I have plenty in stock starting from 1650 TL I can also offer engine tune ups that put them upto 80cc for £150 more.if you want more info give me a call or email
