Sorry to hear the above. The island seems to get quieter every year.Certainly needs a big tourist push!

Wish you luck in what ever you are doing next.

Dam Shame Shayna

just before you go try to get the greedy sods to listen to a few home truthes. Over priced greedy and lacking in the realworld for the service that is offered. Obviously TC ran, shame you seemed to have a foot in the real world.

Went there in June for a drink pre-lunch and there were so many waiters. Sat at the edge and two waiters hovered around us, as we were the only people there. The others were setting up tables in the restaurant.

Another casualty of TRNC I think, sorry Amanda.

A lot of money invested for a 'white elephant', due to excessive charging - only attractive to wealthy locals, but let's face it, Brits not wanted anywhere now!

Such big plans these 'business' people have - but so shortsighted!

I don't know you, Amanda, but I see you did great PR work for Shayna Beach - as for them 'letting you go', I sincerely hope they bitterly regret it. You shouldn't - it's their loss, the greedy devils!

I have been in the restaurant business from 1978 till March this year,i have had good times and real tough times!

But looking round this island since March(and i have been coming here since 1995) Never have i seen Restaurant's so quiet!

I have the greatest of respect for all Restaurateur's who are still trading here.

Best wishes to all.

Dave.

We often pop down there for lunch and have usually had great service, the food is good and reasonably priced.

Flagged up a problem once and it was immediately rectified.

One of the nicest lunch venues around.

ı ate at shaynas quıte a lot last year and the food was fantastic. What has happened this year ı dont know!!! maybe they have a new chef, but the standard of the food has dropped. I ordered the salmon salad, couldnt see any salmon, only a bowl of lettuce and a tomato!!! None of the waiters seemed bothered when i complained, only when eveyone else had finished eating did the manager come over and offered me another. bit too late! other people i know have ate there this year and said the food isnt as good. it is a shame because it is a lovely setting right on the beach. I wont be eating there again

Assume you will change your name now as no longer Shayna Beach. How will anyone know it is you? Trouble with this island is that anyone can start up a business and if they go bankrupt, who cares. Other countries involves planning and permissions. The good side is that there is less red tape, the down side is there is more red ink on the bank statement.

Sorry you were a victim of it. Good luck for the next phase of your life.

Maz what are you on about ! Amanda was employed by Shayna (Deniz and co) to try and extend their facilities and venue to an audience of "Expats" UK or otherwise ! and on visiting her in situ felt she had an impossible task ! she did her best to encourage the management to widen their scope to facilitate this but to little avail. it was a hopeless and doomed job and we feel for her and hope the Shayna realise that the vodka guzzling looney posers who will dissapear in the winter months could be their downfall !! too many negative reports i think ! it could be so good !! just my humble opinion ! regards Barry

Thanks for the explanation, Snakes. Just shows I know nothing. Sounds as if her job is similar to that of Jacqui Smith at Cratos, although maybe Jacqui could be on more of a winner - there is the North Shield Pub in the centre of the building, but will the ex pats treat it as their 'local'. Shayna, well Inever got there, but I am taking a look later in the week at an art expo. It is just so sad when hard working folk bite the dust, especially as it is a very unpalatable meal.

Maz ! I can understand that the "big" bars or whatever they are need to show their intentions of being "expat friendly" but reading between the lines ............................ ! its a shame they use people for their escape ! oooopps sorry !!!

Yes, Snakes. A shame. But as they say 'This is Cyprus' and a lot of people become victims of that way of life. But we mustn't become twitter and bisted must we?
