* clean sea -no suspicious light brown bubbles like the ones in Shayna Beach and Diana

* cheap entry rate: 5 TL per person -weekend inclusive.

* not-so-expensive buffet.

* most of the people are British -this is a + for me for several reasons.

* completely shadowed area for those who does not like direct sunlight.

problems are:

* too much cigarette ends in the sand

* buffet closes at 7pm -ending the day with a dinner would be nice.

* part of the private road is not asphalt.

"too much cigarette ends in the sand"

What does that tell you?

It's the same in Bournemouth! I know we went there, once...

Also, why is it every tradesman thinks you want a fag butt outside your front gate?

mssg 4 They do NOT charge an entrance fee - they charge you 5ytl for a mattress for their sunbeds. You are free to go on the beach to walk, lie on the beach or the sandstone flats (but for 5YTL for the day, why be uncomfortable !!!)

We use Lara a lot - best beach in the area (we think). Very clean - not really noticed the cigarette end issue.

I agree with Perry. We were only charged for sunbed, not admittance.

Lovely beach

Why do people kick up such a fuss about paying 5tl for a day at the beach ?? If its such an issue then find some other part of the coastline to use where there are no facilities...

Calling the police !! I have never heard such crap in my life...

The new hotel is not "At" Lara beach but further up it should make no difference to the existing facilities.

Went to Lara beach today WAS NOT ALLOWED to swim in sea or sit on sand because would not pay 5tl. Same at Diana beach. only beach it appears that you can sit and swim for free is Alagadi....which is very dirty.

Why should i pay just to have a swim in the sea??

All beaches in TRNC are public places. If you want to use the facilities that are being provided then it's only fair you should pay something towards it. BUT, if you are using just sand, sea and fresh air, provided for us all to use by someone/thing with a higher authority than any of us has, then no one on this earth should try to argue with you.

Sorry, I'm with Oldshep in msg 4 on this one.

However, I also believe that those choosing not to contribute should leave the sand and sea in the same state it was when they arrived and if caught not doing so, should be challenged. Most of us were brought up to be civil and tidy, weren't we(!), so we shouldn't let our standards fall and should endeavour to teach those less fortunate enough to have had this education all about 'picking up after yourself'.

I don't begrudge smokers but please dispose of it properly.
