I'd like to thank Mrs Prue Lundie (British Residents' Society, Welfare), who, within minutes, solved a problem with five units of blood needed urgently by a friend. You did a great job, Mrs Lundie!

Dear Hans, You handed over the data base 1 week ago with over 100 names so take some of the credit yourself! Chris

To those that gave the five units of blood to save a life, highly commendable, but were you all BRS members? If not, have you been offered honorary membership? Richard

RE msg 6, Brinsley: (...) If not, have you been offered honorary membership? (...) => The blood donors remained anonymous and were/are obviously not interested in a question like yours. The BRS helps members (10 Sterling a year), Associate members (9 Sterling a year) and non-members (zero Sterling a year) alike. No question about a membership of my friend was asked. This is a good place to thank the blood donors also, which I should have done in message one in the first place. Be assured that my friend, who is still in hospital and unable to use a computer, is very grateful indeed. My apologies for this omission.

To clarify my position: yes, I'm pleased to be an Associate member of the BRS and proud to be the first non-Brit to have joined this organisation of well meaning volunteers. I wish more people would realise that a strong BRS is important to represent all expats. The BRS is to our advantage - to all of us expats. This web site may interest you: http://www.brstrnc.com/

Hans Didn't stop you passing on my 'private' details to the BRS whilst you and Chris were in control of the blood registration data unbeknown to myself until they (BRS) contacted me directly! That was last year! Richard

Brinsley, this is the second time you try this. Read this thread http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/43835.asp (msg 8 and 9, reply from Chris Offord - Nurseawful) and stop lying c.q. insinuating . Your obsession with anything BRS is pathetic, to say the least. A couple of years I thought you were a nice man. My fault. Thank you.

Take a look at the BRS website. There are various places one can go, Kyrenia, Iskele, Yeni Erenkoy etc (blow it, just lost a load of typing). I believe you can also go direct to the State Hospital at Lefkosia and give, thus helping others without needing to wait for an organised donating day.Whatever way you choose to give, I am sure that someone will be more than grateful for your kindness in sharing 'life' with them. There is a huge need for thalassaemia victims (oops, suddenly can't spell) for whom large supplies of blood are required on a regular basis. So, don't delay - give today! And may you be rewarded for your loving kindness (that's what I rekcon!)
