Dimondgirl: Considering her age, unless you could source a child-size guitar with a very narrow 'neck', it's doubtful whether her hand would be large enough to hold a normal size guitar, and most of the 'cheapies' have wide 'necks' - sorry to disappoint you. I think you'll have to wait until she's at least ten, and her little hands and fingers have grown more.

Whether, or not, children's [quality] guitars are available in Cyprus, I can't advise.

Tenakoutou ! from dimondgirl's post it seems as though her daughter is already "strumming" so perhaps she has a 3/4 guitar or even struggling as you say on a full scale. however, whilst agreeing with your point of view it can only be an advantage to start as early as possible ! for instance children learn piano on a full size instrument it helps them spread their finger "span" during growth ! same goes for guitars.

kind regards Barry (you comin Friday??)

Diamondgirl, I would recommend you Victor as a highly professional guitar teacher, who makes his lessons with a very personal touch to every student. The age of your daughter is not a point to worry really, I saw several of his students, the youngest was 5 years old. I think petsitter61 posted Victor's number, call him...

A good song for a 7 year old to learn:

'We're all going to the zoo tomorrow, zoo tomorrow, zoo tomorrow,

We're all going to the zoo tomorrow, we can stay all day!

We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo - how about you, you, you?

You can come too, too, too - we're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo!'

Your daughter's age group usually love this simple little ditty, and it's ideal as a first [guitar] song to learn - 2 chords only - A & E!

If anyone does need a 3/4 size classical guitar for a child - we have one with a soft case. Our daughter used it and it when she was little.

It was approved by the Berkshire Music Trust's guitar teacher.

£20 to a good home.

Groucho/Msg 16:

Re your guitar - sold, sight unseen!

Please, when you're next passing this way, can you bring your guitar with you, pop into 'Ronnies Furniture' and ask for Roy.

However, if this is inconvenient, I would need your contact details.

Thanks in anticipation of your early response!

It's very easy to play once you locate the G-String but don't play too much with it, not good for your heart as it were.
