Hi littlenige,

You take the coast road to Tatlisu and drive down past Esentepe and Bahcelli and you will come to some cross roads, go straight over the crossroads and approximately 50 meters further on you will meet the new road with a keep left island in the middle of the road. Turn right and this will take you over the mountain. The road is very good except for a small part about 2 metres where they seem to have run out of Tarmac. If you are going to Bogaz turn left when you get to the garage on the main road.

welsh witch,

We have driven from Esentepe/Bacheli area to larnaca several times, your directions from the K pet garage are different to the route we take. We normally take a right turn at the garage, then left a few hundred metres further on, which takes you past Gecitkale airport (on the right) to the crossroads at Dortyol where you go straigt on to the Pyla crossing point.

Last time we were over, noticed a new road being constructed to the left, is this now complete?

Littlenige

Not sure if this is what you are asking for or whether you mean the new road past Esentepe. The following instructions take you from Esentepe into the Mountains and down the otherside, eventually getting onto the dual carriageway for Lefkosa/Famagusta.

You can go through the mountains through the village of Esentepe. Go up to the Village and follow the road to the far end. Follow road round until you get to a 5 road junction with a map of Cyprus opposite to the Police Station. You need to take the left hand fork. This road takes you up through the mountains and into the picnic area at the top. When you get to the picnic area you will come to a junction, you need to turn left and follow road. You get some fantastic views on both sides of the mountain.

Butler wife the 2 meter strip is about forty meters an is a bit of land in despute between goverment and land owner who want a underpass for his goats/sheeps.

When get to Kpet station on main road turn right then 500 meters take left to Getitkale strait road from there on to Beyermudu & pile (pyla)

Superb directions from Welsh Witch, who said women can`t navigate? However why bother going through Pyla? After border crossing at Beyermudu take left turn after approx 1 kilometre, this road takes you across a small runway. Turn left at T junction, then next left onto the A3 slip road.

Hi Ishmail,

We wont argue over 38 metres, it was interesting to learn why it has been left untarmaced. Where we live below Esentepe they have built an underpass for the goats and sheep. Do they use it? No they don't, they just spill onto the road and the screech of breaks is a daily occurance. There is a dead one in the underpass, so obviously one goat has found its way in and got lost.

Paul,

They say all roads lead to Rome......... Knowing your sense of direction in TRNC, that will probably be where you end up next time!
