Was only saying yesterday, we have had no electrical storms to speak of. Well that was the mother of storms, fantastic to watch!

Well, this is freaky. We heard the rain pouring down. Just got up and the patio is dry, and so are our

cushions!!!!!, but the chairs on the other side of the house are soaked. Missed the thunder and lightening

though.

Lightning or lightening?

Use lightening if you mean 'making lighter', and lightning if you mean 'thunder and lightning'. .

They tried lightening in South Africa it was called apartheid..... Thank goodness that's over!

Well spotted, but were you up at 4.30am with a gallon of ale down your throat?! Woe betide the next time you make a written mistake!

The lightning flashed,

The thunder roared,

Heaven and Earth were shaken,

The little pig curled up his tail,

And ran to save his bacon !

My point was really to point out that in SA 'lightening' could have a different connotation, and was in response to the previous post...

I'm sure I will make mistakes....
