I am flying to Ercan via Dalaman next week and have been horrified by some of the reviews given to Cyprus Turkish airlines. Surely they cannot be that bad?

We flew with Onur air last time and I find it hard to believe CTA could be any worse?!

Anyone have any views/experiences to share?

No problem! Enjoy your flight!

Just a few house rules though:

Don't take more than one donkey as hand luggage.

Don't look cabin crew in the eye, they will turn you into a pillar of salt!

When packets of nuts are thrown at you, just smile sweetly.

You must clap and cheer on landing,.... even in an emergency.

If oxygen masks deploy,.. use quickly,.. only 1/2 ltr of Efes each!

For a warm welcome,.. practice a few phrases in Greek.

Only Joking!

Have a great time!

Not the best of airlines but not the worst. A reasonable experience notwithstanding the food !! But then is any airline economy class food actually nice ? The free drink is a plus so long as you are not picking up a hire car when you land. Thai Airways would leave them squarely in the shadows, but then everything is relative and, after all, we are not travelling to Thailand. A bearable ride.

Hi Wilts Girl,

CTA are fine. We've flown with them for years and never really had any problems. Most of the flights either take off on time or land on time as they try to make up the time with not staying in Turkey as long if they are running late.

All of their planes "come home" at night so you shouldn't have any problems on your return flight as the plane should already be there.

Have a great holiday.

Karen

PS friends of ours live in Dilton Marsh

Thanks Orangekazzie. I am particularly glad to hear return flights tend to be on time as we had a terrible delay with Onur air last time.

I know Dilton Marsh, lovely village.

Shoosh keep this a secret , but if you fly from Stanstead on a late Thursday night , it has been known on a few occasions that you fly direct to Ercan with no stopover . Shooosh now .
