We bought 2 different blood pressure tablets and it came to 45tl. This is only 1 month supply of each. Is this about right, only it seems a lot to pay. All replies welcome. Regards.

It depends on what tablets they are as some are very expensive while the old favourites are usually cheaper. It may also be possible to get a "generic" brand of your tablets EG Brufen is the trade name for Ibuprofen so you pay extra for the name. Ask your pharmacist if there is a generic available as this should save quite a bit of money - that goes for a lot of medications.

My wife takes 3 different tablets for blood pressure and it costs around 35tl a month. As has been said it will depend on the type of tablet.

For comparison here is a list of medicine/drug charges in the RoC.

I have been prescribed various tablets ..

Varying from :-

Metformin 500mg .. 84 tablets .. 4.15TL

Plavix 75mg .. 28 tablets .. 79.47TL

I was previously prescribed & still taking Neurontin 600mg .. 50 tablets .. 55.28TL

I thought these a bit expensive, but was informed from a reliable source that in 2006 these same tablets in the UK would have cost £106 .. You lucky people on free prescriptions ..

Okay, so long as no prescription is needed and that drugs are cheaper in Turkey as mentioned in Msg 8. Email your list and what the TRNC prices are so I can decide whether the saving is worthwhile.
