Can you confirm that Dave from Time Machine/Storm and Dean from Western Paving and Lyn were detained for a number of days until a court hearing on Monday 01/09/08 for a violent attack with an iron bar on Lyn's former husband Mick? Was one of the blows millimetres from taking his eye out and was he left there by them without calling an ambulance?



I'm sure most of us came to N Cyprus to get away from this type of cowardly behaviour so I certainly won't be handing over my hard earned cash to the businesses that these people run.

This could go on forever, however.......if you believe what you read in the newspapers then your life will be a sad one.

People, wherever they are, are innocent until proven guilty, unfortunately the newspapers of today are allowed to embellish and sensationalise stories without any punishment for their fabrication, unless of course an individual who has the means takes them to the courts.

There is so much hurt caused by idle gossip, this gossip is then taken up by shallow people who crave for scandal. Believe what you will but spare us the gossip until the true facts are known, if indeed they ever will be.



Finally, N Cyprus is not the place to be to "get away from this type of cowardly behaviour", when indeed this type of behaviour does actually occur it can occur ANYWHERE in the world. I would have thought that most people come to N Cyprus for it's beauty and climate as well the many other attributes it has and not to escape apparent problems in our home countries.

It's nice to see new people joining the forum, albeit an emotive subject.



Everyone is innocent until proved otherwise as idle gossip is unnecessarily damaging.



I know nothing of this other than what is posted here and therefore I will not pass specific comment or judgement. I also know nothing of Time Machine, whom I assume to be entertainers.



joo20 is quite categoric in her comments so perhaps she can elucidate on the following and we can put 'this to bed' once and for all.



Specific to what is being discussed here:-



Has Dave of Time Machine been arrested recently?

Has he been charged with any offence?

Has he appeared in court pertaining to that charge?

Is he out on bail pending further enquiries and/or trial date?



In any event, IF there is a case to answer, the courts will decide the outcome.

Chessman you are of course right. However, if anyone does decide to be more specific, joo20 or anyone else, wouldn't that be a way of prejudicing people's opinions? Furthermore, wouldn't it also be adding to even more gossip?

I think that whatever has happened, it should now be left to the relevant parties involved to deal with, whatever it is that they did in their PRIVATE lives. It is the job of the police to ascertain specifics not the public.

The reason I asked joo20 was that she said ''THESE ARE THE FACTS!'' I came to the conclusion that she was fully aware of the situation. In those circumstances, were they to be correct, we could have averted more rumour and gossip. However, you are right, let us leave it to the peolple involved and the judiciary.

Given that the law courts are in the middle of town, is it too much bother for someone to go and ask if they really need to know? Court appearances are a matter of public record.

slipper1, your comments only strengthen my view regarding shallow people who crave for scandal loving the local press and believing everything they read in the papers.

We should be showing more interest in facts like: Stamp Duty being suspended back in the UK or Man City paying a British transfer record for Robinho, but more importantly Man Utd strengthening their squad with yet another quality player.

No, this is not all people have to do in their lives. If the story WERE to be true, then people would feel justifiably concerned in such a small community.



You obviously have strong feelings on the subject but perhaps a more reasoned response might enable you to acquire more empathy from your fellow primates.



An alternative is to adopt Langer's suggestion in message 19 and leave this to run it's natural course. This was a comment with which I wholeheartedly concurred, at the time. However people will inevitably respond to your comments as you appear to have knowledge which could assist either 'cause'.



In any event, Dave and anybody else is innocent until the appropriate authorites prove otherwise.

Why have they sold as many of their possessions as they could?

Why have they fled the country prior to the court case?

Lied to the UK government about what happened to the passports?



Best of all was the fact they went round telling everyone the usual "Don't tell anyone but we are skipping out of the country". Why not print off some posters and put them in all the shop windows or how about using all the old Time Machine banners and write it on those?



Drink and big mouths!! Isn't that what caused the problem in the first place? Surprised the police were not waiting at border waiting for them. Then again, they are probably as pleased to see them go as it saves on paperwork. Now they can get back to trying to hide in a fluorescent jacket with a speed camera or even be in hot pursuit of nothing at 25kmph with lights and siren going!! Even better doing it sat in a traffic jam.
