I've been a big fan of Pegasus in the past.. I've even been accused on these boards of working for them... However, this latest promotion has reduced my enthusiasm:

25% or 50% off all flights EXCEPT North Cyprus.. The only destination they have singled out to exclude.

See: http://www.flypgs.com/en/fly-with-pegasus/campaigns.aspx/#171

"# Valid for all domestic and international flights (excluding flights to North Cyprus)"

Obviously, having no competition in to Ercan from UK without change of aircraft has reduced their competitiveness!

How short sighted! Rather than building loyalty now, they've gone for the CTA option. Rip off the mugs.. What will happen when competition starts up...

The way this is going the TRNC Government are going to take out a massive loan from somewhere (there must still be a mug bank still around) at about 80% compound interest and then buy up Pagasus. And in the spirit of things they will name it.....now lets think of a good name......how about Cyprus Turkish Airlines.

Msg 3 got our flights for 2011 booked with BA £450.00 return for 2 adults in May, July and September. like you said only one take off and one landing 23kgs luggage, decent food and drink, good seats, and good times, not your silly early morning chaos at Ercan.

What most of the posts are telling me above is that many have given up on Ercan a long time ago.... BA / Monarch / Larnaca is all I'm reading..

Doesn't surprise me. Rather than increasing flights and going for long term loyalty, Pegasus have chosen to make a fast buck..

Im with Markboy. Go for BA. get some good deals on club class if you book far ahead and fly midweek rather than the weekend.

Their website promotions page is now empty so maybe they are amending it. Always book with Pegasus and have never been disappointed but the order of the day is to book early to get the bargains.

Hi Keithr,

I checked pegasus flight Ercan-Istanbul and Easy Jet Istanbul-Luton, you have got 3 hour at Istanbul. Is it enough tome to collect the luggages and check in . please tell me how did you do it. About the luggages, is it automatic transfer from pegasus to easy-jet?

Joejan, yes, plenty of time. It depends on the flight and the time of year, when I went back in September,I has a 6 hour wait,so I bought a £10.00 visa, checked my case into the left luggage and took a metrobus into the city, did a couple of hours sightseeing, then went back and checked in for the Easyjet flight.

Best to go out and re-enter,that way your duty free from Ercan isn't taken off you !!

I'm not bothered about speed, just the cheapest way to get to the UK...

I just booked flights for mid august with pegasus for 3 adults cost £800 then another 10% off at checkout so £740, £150 cheaper than anything i could find to the south.

I agree, Pegasus is cheap and easy and I've always found them better than most budget airlines. Booked a flight in January for less than 180 pounds return.

Try looking up Istanbul-London and Ercan- Istanbul as separate return flights.

There was when I looked a £60.00 difference in price versus 1 complete journey !!! Talk about discrimination.....

I know you wouldn't have enough time to transfer, but what a difference.
