This is a really good space for all of you interested in selling at markets/car boots. Alkan's Restaurant Turtle Beach Esentepe is now under new management and the first market last week showed promise. There is plenty of space to set up around the swimming pool and bar area, loads of parking where you can offload easily.

The first market included stalls selling handmade crafts, paintings, wood carvings, plants, bric a brac and more.

Do come and give it a go and tell all your friends.

We need something this side of town. NEXT SALE SATURDAY 18TH DECEMBER 10AM

ps Stalls were only 5tl each which included snacks FOC

pps Some tables available to use but bring your own if possible

Are there any market day dates fixed between 30th December and 9th January or is it premature to know?

Please ask Mark no above as he sets dates but I think it's going to be monthly so next one may be towards end of Jan.

Great for Essentepe, they definitely need something that end of town. I'd definitely be there supporting it but Saturday clashes with Lambousa.

Do you think you might run one on a different day? Say Thursday. That's be good for stallholders who cover other markets already on on Weds, Friday, Sat, Sunday. And, it's give visitors yet somewhere else to go out to without having to rush off in order to divide their time across two or more markets they want to visit.

Just a thought but worth thinking about I think!

Market starts 10am Sat 18th Dec. Mark sets the dates so will speak to him bout midweek but surely no competition with Lambousa as so far apart?

By having it on a different day maybe the traders would also like to come to yours and make it a big one x

Lillie, that was exactly the point I was making but you would also be surprised how many customers with a free day to kill will happily travel across the island bargain hunting!

If you attract more traders so that it begins to look like a 'proper' market, customers will flock I'm sure. Midweek would be a good idea.

We have the Venue that is ideally situated with a main road location this side of Kyrenia. Days and dates can be flexible to suit Traders as well as Customers. So come on Saturday the 18th from 9am and give us your feedback, with support this can be bigger and better each time.

The best advertising is word of mouth so please let all the non 44 users that you know when and where and before you know it people will come in numbers

I have been informed that all stalls that were here last time will be coming back along with new ones including home baking and ceramics, the more the merrier!!

Legally, if you're a regular, you should either have your own company set up or be employed by someone else and therefore have a work permit. I have heard tales from others in the past that an inspector has turned up and done some random spot checks, if you don't have the necessary permit you could be in trouble. Having said that someone else said to me, in regard to one particular marketplace, "you're protected by the patron". I'm not sure how, no one has gone in to detail to explain that one for me.

Has been alternating between sunshine and rain:-( The latest report says rain but that could all change as the forecast said sunshine yesterday! Check out http://www.accuweather.com they're usually pretty accurate. See you there.

Weather permitting we will be there selling Kuskor 2011 calendars at 15TL. They contain wonderful quality photos of Cyprus wildlife... worth framing as each month passes! All for a good cause too.

In addition we will be selling loads of novels, DVDs and a selection of home made Jams, Marmalade & Chutney.
