Hi Everyone,

I have just seen from another link that Escape beach is to close on the 14th September and I wanted to know if that is in fact correct , as we have been cming over for the past 6 years at the same time each year about the 10-12th September and have found the beach always open , albeit with fewer people on the beach each year but I would have thought that they were still making money especially at 15ytl entrance , (maybe not the watersports guy ) and also can any of you recommend any other similar local beaches that are not as rocky as say Lara , we like the beach at Kaplika (excuse spelling ) but far to far to travel to on a regular basis , anyway all replies greatfully accepted .

I use a little beach near Alsancak with free parking, free access, free use of sunbeds and beach umbrellas. You can also pruchase water and a beer and an icecream van visits in the afternoon. The toilet facilities leave a bit to be desired but as a sandy cosy little beach goes its great.

What do you mean close the beach? If they're packing up the facilities, that means you can take a towel and use the beach for free. Unless, of course, they're packing the sand away too.

I think that what is meant by that is there not allowing access to the beach , so will have to look elsewhere,

Lemtich , whereabouts is the beach you use in Alsancak ? can you give me some sort of directions please ?

thanks

I'll pm you with directions, I don't want to advertise it too much. It tends to be mostly TC families who use it.

Jonny - Kervansary is very nice - as already stated by Peter. I would also recommend Acapulco - very nice large sandy beach (much much nicer than Escape) and full facilities.

Hi - it was YTL15 and YTL5 for children. I had heard that it had increased to YTL20 this year. Having said that, they stop charging at some point - we were there at October half term and it was free.

Another point Jonny - we over last month and Lara was lovely - all of the stones have been cleaned away and the bay was very clean and sandy. The charge is still YTL5 per person for the sunbed.

Alagadi was very clean as well - even the bins in the car park were emptied. I have heard that the authorities are now keeping the beaches clean (must have been to a tourism class !!)

Cheers Perry ,

good to hear about Lara and Alagadi being cleaned up , will go and have a look as we quite liked Lara apart from the stones etc , but don't believe the authorities have been to any classes at all especially tourism !!!

"Kervansary is very nice"

There was a major sewage problem on the beach. Have they sorted it yet?

Alagadi was lovely in August - very clean. Also went to Lara beach which was sandy - few rocks as you walk out on your right hand side but the left hand side was sandy into the sea.

Those beaches are lovely. We like Lara last week, as we had baby & it had shelterebeds, showers, restaurant & interesting snorkelling. Went to Nature Beach & we were lucky enough to see the baby turtles released into the sea.

Most exciting. Have also been to Horseshoe Beach along past Lapta somewhere and it was very safe. Local restaurant nearby which had

lovely homemade cheese. These beaches were all free except Lara which

was only 5ytl but worth it.

When they say Escape is closing, that means the facilities will be taken away and the restaurant will be closed. You are able to go on to the beach all year, just take your own beach things and it is free.

The diving centre Amphora who are at Escape will still be open until the end of november.

For a nice beach instead of Escape you should try DenizKizi beach further along towards Lapta. DK hotel share it with the Bar Code Hotel and the entrence is opposite the ptrol staion. Bar Code charge 10YTL for a bed and sunshade and all facilities

PIPIE; a beach was promised but not contracted for turtle bay village and what has been provided is an absolute joke and embarrasment. its never been a "golden sandy beach" and resembles the sand pit in my local park. its also accompanied by the waste treatment plant.

Been past Escape Beach today and still seems to be open. lots of brollies up and water sports going on. The beach next to Denis Kizi is very good and costs only 5ytl. Has a cheap and cheerful snackbar.
