Hi we know nothing about tv packages and have looked on the forum but still confused (doesn't take a lot to confuse)

We want a package that gives us BBC1 BBC2 ITV & Channel 4 plus movies etc.

We have at the moment a Tektan package that gives us fox movies and some english channels but we want more like BBC etc can anyone help and advise us about this please - who do you go to, to buy this and is it a one off payment or monthly payment, please help!!!!!!

Thanks..................

If you want all them channels Linda then you are going to have to tell John to open his wallet a little wider and get a 4.2 metre dish,it might look out of place on your roof but you could share the cost with some of your neighbors in your block.

Of course you can afford SKY. One dish can serve 4, or more, residents. Contact "Iceman" on here for a good deal.

Iceman (Mustafa) certainly the best man for the job ! the only way of obtaining the BBC channels (other than internet) is a 4.2 dish via Sky ! Icemans number 0533 8610329

Linda it's Rob,you dont need sky,get one of these from argos

If you get a dish from Iceman and get him to fit one of these then everyone in you block could have access and you would get a bit of change out of £500 each (5 of you in your block)

The channels you get get on that box are here or if you want to see them ask Sunshine22,she has the box.

I am embarrassed as I promised newscoop and other members a site about this for LAST Monday.. :(

I WILL do it over the Xmas hols - I became pleasantly VERY busy..

Gooligan - that link has expired, but IF you were referring to that LNB ( octo [ 8 way] ) it will be USELESS in Cyprus for BBC/ ITV reception :(

1/ it is for the vertical ( offset dishes) - not the ['wok'] parabolic sort !

2/ it is too deaf to work in fringe reception areas

I wouldn't recommend the Bush - I'd try to buy a PACE 2600 ( used) - best SKY receiver made ( if you don't want to record)

http://tinyurl.com/39cn8e2

or a Humax HD ( HD signals are stronger ) - if you DO want to record and not pay SKY subs - they ain't cheap - c.200 GBP but (BOY) they are really strong tuner for fringe area reception

Failing all that - IF you have good internet.. a hosted slingbox will get you BBC / ITV via the net

Mark re the sling box , as you know i have one and as you predicted it would not be brilliant due to the internet speed. we managed to watch deal or no deal on chan 4 but any live broadcast was naff.

have you any ideas how to improve this ( you being a very cleaver computer person )

Hi Andy

The 'problem' with your slingbox is your upfeed from the UK to Cyprus..

I installed a supper fast network with the same speed up as down and it works ANYWHERE with a half decent connection

Do you still have my contact details ?
