A 15% increase in tourism during the past year - who is he kidding. Ask hoteliers/restaurant owners whether they have seen any increase, I doubt very much whether they would be able to support his figures.

You couldn't make it up - although TRNC politicians seem to make it up all the time

If tourism was not on the up..why would new companies invest in building new hotels.....are these hotels loss makers or do the owners know something of the future

I hope so Paul. Hope all this competition also leads to a price war and reduces the price of flights, especially from the north.

Paul, Happy Xmas and all the best for a good New Year. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we won't be spending it in Terminal 5 Heathrow!

i wouldnt have thought a company as powerfull as turkish airlines would have got involved ( four executive directors ) if they didnt see it as a viable buisiness . all points to direct flights in very near future me thinks .

We already have direct flights into the TRNC, its just that they stop off in Turkey on the way.

What we DONT have is non-stop flights from anywhere but Turkey.

Can anyone out there spot the subtle difference?

Michael
