Not certain if this has already been covered so apologies if it has.

Visited the bank today to draw cash out of the ATM-It only supplies Lire!!

The manager is handing out invites to attend the grand opening 24TH December 10am with Xmas Cocktails.

Hope you can make it.

Support your local bank.

Am reliably informed via a-n-other local site with photos that the ATM will be eventually supplying sterling as well, give them a chance

MSG 6

I raised this point today with the new bank manager-he said it was not possible to supply Sterling or Euro's and he did not think this would be achieved in the future.

Paul........can't wait to see Leonard Cohen-fantastic artist!!

It always made me wonder

You are in a country whose legal tender is Turkish Lira. Government employees, most restaurant and shops are paid in Lira. Most normal everyday transactions are done in Lira yet people still insist on using £

As i said it always makes me wonder why

Hi Naas26,

Once you've lived in the TRNC for a while, you'll realize that some things are charged in other currencies.

Some computer parts etc are charged in US Dollars.

Some pool chemicals, are advertised in GB £

Some restaurants have menus with prices in Euros,

that can be a shock when you go to pay the bill, if you thought it was in Tr Lira.

Lots of places have no prices at all, and that can result in heart failure :-(

Northern Cyprus is a multi currency part of the world, like no other.

I've even found a place in the south, ROC, that accepts Tr Lira.

So don't worry too much about what's in your pocket, they'll likely take it

Happy Holidays,

Navek
