I am thinking of placing an order for a swimming pool. I have heard of Nurtas pools ltd. Has anyone recently employed that firm or know if they are still in business and would recommend them as being sound?

I'm sure Octopus Pools were recommended on here by someone.

Nurtas is good, they are selling Australian pool systems without ceramic tiles. This is very good as you don't get any cracks. If you need a phone number please let me know

popeye.............

before you jump in feet first (no pun intended !)....

I'd have a chat with people who have got pools..............

from my experience - for the amount of time that you can actually use them comfortably (early may to late Oct), they are expensive to run and often a pain in the back side....

Given my time over again - i wouldn't have had one................

Dont fit an overflow pool, go for a skimmer if you do decide its worth while, it depends on how you propose to use your villa ie living in the house as a permanent home/infrequent visits/holiday lets

Popeye,

I went to see Nurtas today, on another matter, and his office advertising signage had been removed and the place was locked-up tight. His neighbour told me Nurretin had gone to Australia.

spook overflow pools look so much better than a skimmer, why choose a skimmer is it because the loose less water.

Nurtas have moved to Karalanoglu, exactly where not sure, yet. They do fit Fox Pools which are American, we have one. There were two Nuretins, the older one has returned to London. They are still building villas and pools around Girne and Lefkosa and do a very good job.

Popeye - will answer your email later when have more details.

Crofter,

I think I know where that might be in Karaoglanoglu, just past the Karaman junction on the left. It's not signposted Nurtas, though, to my knowledge.

I think having a "Fresh" water pool in a place with NO water is unacceptable ..Salt Water pools should be the norm as in many places like Florida for instance.....

Do you mean seawater when you say saltwater?

We did try to introduce this a year ago or so. Met mostly objections and some folk even expected it to be delivered free, as it came "free" from the sea!!

I can recommend Raif he is an English guy who install pools and does also repair on pools. He fixed my pool as it was leaking, took him 5 mins.

His phone number is 0533 8446349

Sounds like a jammed check valve on the balance tank, to me.
