IAH are getting some excellent deals through from CTA and at last they are starting to open the winter bookings (they are not fully ready yet but put your requests in with us now) http://www.fezbus.co.uk/Flight_Option_Form there is no charge if you take an option with us this way.



The prices have not yet been updated on all winter flights on the Cyprus Turkish Airlines /KTHY computer system so do not expect accurate quotes from them or us yet!



Examples from yesterday (all adults):



One way Ercan to Manchester November 2007 Total from us £132



Return Manchester Ercan November 2007 £250



Return Birmingham Ercan October 2007 £275



Similar fares will apply to Turkey (but about £20 chepaer on a return Journey).



(Pegasus flights are due shortly both Turkish internal and international.)

IAH have recently been notified that Pegasus now have winter flights on their system for the Stansted, Sabiha Gokcen, Ercan and North Cyprus via Istanbul to UK routes.



At present we can make bookings but our own website is not up to date (it will not be long) you can take options from the link there in any case http://www.fezbus.co.uk/Flight_Option_Form .



The flights are available Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday but with slightly earlier ETD & ETA the last booking date is the 27th March 2008



Flightholiday have run specimen bookings today for March 2008 and the best rates are very nice but will probably have restrictions such as "no changes, no refunds, no cancellation"



The cheapest fare works out £179.00 per person



The highest fare works out £379.00 per person



(If you buy through IAH we add a booking fee of £15.00 to the first person. I am told that the service we give is worth more.)

The rates have been published the schedules are at a different time but still on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.



We have them on flightholiday, their pricing system is very complex (I reckon it makes CTA's look easy).



The place to look for return flights from £179 (using the best return rate Stansted 1 November Ercan 11 November checked this morning) look in on http://www.flightholiday.co.uk/Pegasus_flights_Winter_Schedule___Prices_2007/08 and get us to try to option the best rates. Please try to use the option form as then we can help you best.



Don't forget that Pegasus also fly Germany and Iran and all round Turkey.

We have been advised that Sun Express will discontinue their UK to Turkey / North Cyprus services late October 2007 and do not anticipate a new schedule for 2008.



We should still be able to sell their German and internal Turkish services for them.

KTHY and e-ticketing. CTA started this on Saturday but please give it a couple of weeks to settle in.



This was supposed to have come in much earlier this year but they had some teething problems*. We are supposed to have been trained on the new system which will make our speed far better and our tasks much easier but as yet CTA are still asking us not to go for the training but work the old way!

No - I doubt they will offer Birmingham again either - not enough take up and agents in North Cyprus were actualy telling customers that you can't fly CTA to Birmingham! If you had that happening to you what would you do - something about "you can take a horse to water ..... " come to mind?

News of CTA -



1] Currently CTA are having varied problems and hiccups with their new sabre booking system (this would be the same in any company) so be patient both with them and with their agents, like us.



2] We can now offer flights on CTA / KTHY well into the summer so please contact us soon as the earlier bookers are getting the better prices. We have been able to offer Turkish Airlines summer 2008 flights for quite a long time already.



3] Due to a vagary of the Sabre system KTHY Ercan taxes are fluctuating and are currently coming out at near to GBP 15.00 - normaly they would be charged as GBP 9.00 per passenger. The UK GBP 10.00 and TRNC tax portion goes from the airlines directly to the governments so no commercial company gains unhappily you loose a litle more this way to the North Cyprus Government. These are only a part of the "taxes" any airline charges you and most of these taxes are not profitable to agents (we just pass the money on).



(Sabre is a US company that gives services to a great many travel companies but being a US based organisation can sometimes do silly things like price the KK tax in USD which is why the tax fluctuates sometimes by the hour. It also means that when the UK arm of Cyprus Turkish Airlines needs something done or recomends an alteration of any kind it has to go from them to TRNC to be agreed and then onto the US.)

PEGASUS



FLIGHTS TODAY Sunday 17-02-08 - a customer has called to tell me their journey was cancelled when they got to Stansted.



The reason given snow in Istanbul - I only know of this affecting H9501 & H9502.



I have checked and it was "snow yesterday and blizzard today" this can cause havoc at airports.



If you have travel insurance (YOU SHOULD HAVE) you may be able to claim. IAH will advise you what Pegasus tells us in the morning.

Not the best news of the week.



Pegasus have raised their Fuel Surcharge on flights which have not been paid in full.



An approximate translation of their information to their Agents like ourselves at IAH. "Due to rising Fuel prices and the increse in Foreign Currency/YTL ratio, there will be an incraese in the fuel surcharge (YR) on ticket sales made from the 17th April 2008; on flights after 1st May 10GBP and on flights after 1st July 12 GBP. The current rate being 8 GBP for flights up to end April."

CTA have followed Pegasus with a fuel surcharge - the following is taken from my email to our web designer a short while ago:

Flights CTA they have increase the YR charge as of today with immediate effect - this instantly affects any ticket that has not been issued by the airline:



New rates parts in Euro parts in pound Stirling so I am giving them in GBP as an indication there will be daily fluctuations on the Euro price.



Turkey to UK Now GBP 3

UK to Turkey Now GBP 3



Turkey to TRNC Now GBP 3.50

TRNC to Turkey Now GBP 3.50



Round trip to or from the UK and Ercan £13.00 per person (This charge was £8.00 per person.)

KTHY / CTA emailed us about an hour ago with the following message, this is the first advice that we have received - I assume that by doing this they are avoiding another fuel price increase in the short term:

Please note that as from the 1st of June 2008 baggage allowance for passengers will be

20kg for hold baggage and 5kg for hand luggage.

Re 0871 We spend a huge amount of time on the phone helping customers often with things which are not our business or money making for flightholiday. The very small amount that we earn from the 0871 numbers does not start to cover our phone costs, calling our customers.



We have the 0871 numbers so that they can be moved remotely by computer to keep our service going if we have a "disaster".



On our web sites you can find two numbers for callers wordlwide (to a computer though.) To numbers from the Antipodes or Europe. We offer you a Skype number on our web site. You can email, fax or write to IAH or use MSN messenger. We call our customers worldwide without hesitation for the simplest query, down to advice and to help if they have a problem.



If you don't want our brand of real help and service we are sorry to lose your trade. We either answer a phone, you get an answering machine for a message (please make it clear and give us a number or two to call you on) or we do not it's as simple as that
