Hi 'jatto' - good for you that you have joined CY44! I used to live on the Greek side - one of my best friends there is Iranian. I so respect the Persian culture; but, from what my friend has told me, I feel very sad about the suffering of so many Iranians, who are forced to live under such a dictatorial regime. Having said that, I believe it is wrong for the West to try to force Western style democracy [so called!] on so many people who simply don't want to know about it, never mind accept it. Of course, it's very difficult for outsiders to know, or understand, what is really going on in Iran....however, I do think [maybe I am wrong!] that 'Aljazeera' has a reasonably balanced perspective with their journalists' reporting.

Jatto, what does it matter where you come from? There's lots of differet nationalities on here already, it's not always clear, but it doesn't really need to be - there's a good number of people on here who are only here to help. And at the end of the day, apart from the Turkish Cypriots, we're all foreigners on here anyway!! Welcome to the forum.

Also a big welcome, I think you will find most of us who live here to be Non Racist. We are all the same, just a few different cultures, and maybe a bit different on the outside.. We are small community, and we find that most people help each other. Happy New Year, and good luck.

RE msg 22, "jatto": (...) my name is jafer talib omari so i try to short my name. (...) ▶ How interesting (I think)! Did you know: the boy's name Omari is of Swahili origin, meaning: "God the highest". And Talib means: "student" in Arabic. Jafer or Jafar means "stream" and is only used in Arabic speaking countries. By the way, can you help me with this translation? Thank you! عربان ايرانیعرب إيران
