Hello everybody,

we are looking for a new home for our two lovely dogs for we are going back to Germany in July and we can't take them with us.

Both dogs are female, sterilized and all jabs.

One of them is cream colored, 8 years old. Cross between Kangal and smaller one.

The other one is black/brown, 2 years old. Cross

They both are easy to care and are also used to be in a kennel as well as inside. The are very friendly, especially with children. They grew up with our 3 kids

If you want to have one of them or both or maybe know somebody please please call me on

Maybe we should also appreciate that the msg 1 poster tries to find homes for the dogs - how many dogs were just abandoned and left to a lousy, starving existence in and near the mountains?

Oh paddy if only, hindsight is wonderful. How many came here for the rest of their lives only to find they cant afford to be ill or cant afford to be here. We cant judge. I know by the amount of poor souls left with me. Then think the poor souls have 6 months quartine back in UK. Imagine taking a stray, domesticating it , flying it across the world and lock it up for 6 months. Its not an easy choice for anyone. They are at least trying to find them a home as I am for a couple left with me. We do not know the reasons x

message 8 surely you must feel for these poor animals and not as you put it the people trying to find homes for the poor animals.

People should remember that a dog is for life and not Christmas, I'm sure the dogs would love it in Germany

Msg 12 Im sure they may my message was for all the people trying to find homes for whatever reason. I still have 3 wanting homes. I didnt adopt them they were dumped on me.I have given up posting their pics here for some it works if the dogs have a value, cute etc. One of mine is so cute, the other two a german pointer and Miss Valentine the most loyal soul is a Heinz 57. I think by trying on here and posters etc is better than dumping them on people like me or on the street.

Paddywack your attack is scandalous. They are trying to find a good home for the dogs. No-one but you mentioned abandoning dogs. Your post was the 2nd in the thread. Surely on CY 44 we should be aiming to be positive not condemning from the start.

We all feel for evry stray dog that we see, but let's not condemn before we know the facts

Msg 16, 17

Read my profile, where I come from dogs are considered an asset, not something to abandon when the fit takes you . There are too many posts of people trying to ease their concience by posting on bulleting boards. No matter if they bought or rescued the dog, they took the dog so they should accept the resposibility.

all these negative post will only put people off take-in in these dogs in-case they have to go back 1 day .It must be better having a dog off the street for a few years than them being there all there life. Is it really that easy to take a dog back to the UK or Germany that every one can do it ?

My parents in law put their 2 cats and dog in Quarantine in the UK when they returned from living in the far east. They visited monthly and the cats and dog were perfectly happy. They get used to a routine. When they came home they settled immediately and there were no problems.

I do sometimes feel people use the, " The animal will not be able to cope for six months," line as a get out.

UK quarantine is not a nightmare and a thousand times better than the place in Lefkosa was, three years ago, when our dog was there.

who thinks its easy leaving them behind is wrong! But sometimes there are circumstances which come up and you can't change it! It is always easy to judge other people without knowing the background, without knowing why they have to do something! Easy to say these things when you haven't been in the same situation!

In Germany it is not easy -nearly impossible- to find a house or flat for RENT with dogs !!!

I tried it with no luck!

So I have to find a home for them! And I really appreciate any help! Help is always better than blaming somebody! Maybe one day one of you could be in the same situation!

And then I hope there are only helpful people!

op1966, i fully understand your predicament and hope you find someone to take them on. I have been trying now for 4 months to rehome 2 which were dumped on me. Good luck to you with your move. No one can judge unless they know all the facts and the fact your are trying to home them speaks volumes in my mind xx

As far as I'm aware there are no quarantine regulations for animals going to Germany, as that's one place KAR have been able to send animals.

Animals are a lot easier to send to Germany than the UK. All you require is a Rabies Vaccination, Microchip, Rabies Serialogicial Test and three months from the date of the Serialogical Test the animals can travel into Germany without quarantine.

They travel as excess baggage.

Homes for the dogs would be a lot easier to find in Germany!!

Good luck.

op1966.

It shows that you are caring, thinking ahead trying to find homes as you state you are moving in July.

No one knows your circumstances and to me anyone questioning you has no thought, and to quick to condemn.

Sometimes it is impossible for a number of reasons to take animals to another country, it could be down to finance, you could be restricted to having animals in your next abode, etc etc.

Good luck op1966 I do hope you get the dogs rehomed, at least it will not be for the lack of trying !!

Pipie,

thank for your kind and understanding words

In fact we are going to have a rented flat and in Germany it is not very easy finding one where dogs are allowed! Especially not 2 of them! With cats it would be much easier :(

How can you leave part of your family behind because that is what your pets are.

Would you leave children behind just because they are not allowed in rented accommodation.

I am neither condemning or condoning people's actions with regard to trying to re-home animals because they are leaving, for reasons best known to themselves, TRNC. What I do find amazing is the constant comparison between animals and children, e.g. "would you leave your kids behind", etc. No, of course people wouldn't leave their children behind (well, I least I would hope not), neither would they try to re-home them, surely? By the same token, I would hope that they wouldn't put their children in a kennel in the garden, either. What would happen if (God forbid) anyone had to make a choice between the welfare of an animal and the welfare of a child. Would you see this as level pegging?

I have had animals all my life and am a supporter of animal charities here in UK, but, PLEASE, stop this constant comparison between animals and humans.

This is, obviously, just my opinion.

lovingcyprus,

I do absolutely agree with Jeannie!!! How can you compare an animal with a child???

For the sake of my kids I would do everything!!! Even if this means leaving the beloved pet behind!!!
