You really have to stop accusing the religion itself, I can't believe I am defending religion but, it is the culture and traditions of these people in remote ares of the world. They are as representative of Islam as the KKK were representative of Christianity. At least they are implementing their beliefs on their own kind unlike KKK who did the same on the blacks.

Nowhere in the Qu'ran is stoning mentioned, not one Surah, BUT because the Hadith says the Prophet had some people stoned, the extremists in Islam have decided that codifies the practice. ANY human being that stones (very particularly, not pebbles as they are too ineffective, not big rocks, as death would be too quick) another to death, is a knuckle dragging, neanderthal, sub-human that is dysfunctional and inadequate to the nth degree. That we have MP's in England to even mute the idea of Sharia law obtaining here leaves one speechless they would want to take us back to the 12th Century. Unfortunately the extremists in Islam (who are few) give the moderates (who are in the billions) a bad name, and calls the entire Faith into disrepute. I am an Atheist, have stated in my will I am to have a humanist burial, and although the father of my daughter is Moslem, I no more judge a person's disposition by their faith, any more than their provenance, size, gender, colour.......

it is one's heart and mind that is the deciding factor in my opinion. It horrifies me that the West doesn't take more of a stand against extremists, instead the war criminals such as Blair and Bush are wimps that are so frightened to rock the boat, they compromise to such a degree, the indigenous populations are left in jeopardy.........Baroness Warsi is a case in point of someone in a 'position of authority' who makes such polemical mindless statements that uninformed people are led to believe we all adhere to - and don't even start me on the idiots who are our religious leaders who call for tolerance regarding Sharia law............

▶ I'm not a believer, but your generalisations (all over this board) are appalling. Islam has more than one billion followers - you cannot blame them all for extreme ideas and customs.

P.S. Amazing how the nice (Christian) habits in Europe (and the USA) are easily forgotten when Islam and some of its extreme customs can be blamed. Any idea how long ago the last innocent woman in Europe was burned at the stake, accused of being a witch? Not so long ago. More examples available.

After all any one residing in the TRNC is living in a Isalm/muslim state that besides it faults is a pretty tolerant one compared to others.
