THY Flights From tanstead Cancelled

We had flight booked through THY for July Departure but these have just been cancelled.

Does anyone know why there are no longer flights from Stanstead to Ercan?

Hi Silverfox1, it would appear that there are still THY flights operating from Stansted to Ercan, although there are very few listed on their website for July.

Perhaps they are all full. My flights in May and June have not been cancelled (yet) so fingers crossed. Have you had a look at Pegasus?

via south!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we looked for may with pegasus.............almost emailed to say we didnt want to buy the plane theybquoted £1604....turkish airlines wanted £600..............Monarch £335....no contest. All from Manchester....Taxi is £100 still a big saving

It seems they are still advertising Stansted to Ercan but are via both Ankara and Istanbul ie two changes!

I think the flight from Stansted which are Anadolu Jet,which is part of Turkish Airlines via Istanbul have been replace by flights via Ankara. I think they are now only flying limited days of the week which I think are Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. So much for 1million tourists !!

Well it looks like the new airline will operate soon together with extending Ercan according to BRT



"Problems regarding the establishment contract of the new TRNC national carrier- North Cyprus Airlines have been resolved during the Minister of Public Works and Communication Ersan Saner’s contacts in Ankara. Saner met with Turkish Minister of Transport Binali Yıldırım in Turkey’s capital.



Evaluating his contacts on Bayrak Haber yesterday, Saner said that all necessary legal arrangements for the new carrier have been finalized with contributions by the Turkish Minister Yıldırım and that the goal is to launch flights of the North Cyprus Airlines by the end of March.



The TRNC Minister also informed that the construction of a new landing strip at the Ercan Airport is on the agenda.

Commenting on the issue separately, Turkey’s Transport Minister Yıldırım said that agreement was reached with Mr. Saner to restructure Ercan Airport in line

Not via the new airline unless they start taking bookings ! Perhaps they will start flying with empty planes.

Silver fox. We are in the same boat. Got an e-mail last week to contact THY urgently and told our flight on 9th April from Stansted cancelled. Luckily they got us on a flight the same date from Manchester and as we live in Sheffield quite a result!. Not sure what is going on though

We fly April, Stanstead- Via Istanbul- Ercan. They have informed us, that passengers flying onto Ercan, will be OK, they will put you onto a different fight (Time about the same give an hour or two) This is because they no longer fly via Istanbul.



So now we fly on the same day as we booked 1 hr longer stop over, so not that bad.



Stanstead - Via Ankara - Ercan.



No need to worry TA will work things through with you, and sort out a suitable change, they will even offer different airports if it's not suitable at no extra charge and the last resort is a full refund, I know a refund wouldn't help, but they do offer you such a wide choice and do their best to get you sorted out.
