Someone was trying to translate a document and had trouble with the Turkish letters so this is how to get those letters on your keyboard

Go to your control panel options

change keyboards and languages

change keyboards

Add language

Select Turkish

Keyboard Turkish Q

Apply then close

To change between the two languages it's the ALT SHIFT keys then ALT SHIFT to return

On my keyboard the i = ı , [ = ğ , ] = ü , ; = ş , ' = i , , = ö , . = ç .

My problem as a touch typist is that the entire things out as jabberwocky instead of either Turkish or English. Maybe I should unlearn touch typing. Or maybe I will stay with English only! Seriously, it is a real challenge to type T~urkish! So best left with the experts. And judging fromthe mistakes here, I can't even type English.

But , joking aside, that is very helpful advice to many who would not know where or how to start.

If you want to add words to your Chrome dictionary so that the correct Turkish spellings are suggested to you each time you type them you can... You can also remove incorrect spellings by editing your Custom Dictionary.txt file.

In Windows 7 You will find this on your C: Drive in:-

Users {your username} appdata local Google Chrome User Data Custom Dictionary.txt

In XP on your C: Drive in:-

\Documents and Settings\ {your username} \Local Settings \ Application Data \ Google \ Chrome \ User Data \ Custom Dictionary.txt

Hi Maz,

Unfortunately I can only manage 4 finger typing so the switch is easy of me.

Thanks for the info Groucho, it all helps us all improve our communication skills. :=)

The character I have trouble with is the comma so every time I need to use it, which can be quite a lot in a paragraph, I have to keep switching back and forth between UK and Turk keyboards!

It's the hash symbol (#) on a UK keyboard which isn't best positioned for easy use for a touch typist!

I just go to Symbols in the bar at the top and click on the letter I need. Works for me.

I do not think there is on the keyboard. However holding down left alt key and then typing 0163 on the keypad on the right of the keyboard should display the £ symbol in most cases.
