Our villa will be finished in July, can anyone recommend any good furniture shops preferably with a website that gives you prices.

If anyone knows of the same for cars that would be good too.

We have just bought bedroom furniture over here from 2 shops both same sort of price but have found the supplier was Tarim Furniture Factory Outlet opposite Camelot Beach Alsancak and he will supply prices at least 20% below shop prices and he makes the furniture for them anyway. It is not often you can buy from stock over here you choose from showroom or catalogue or even give them dims and they will make it up for you, then you pay a deposit they usually like 50% and it can take anytime from 10 days to a month and add at least a week to what they tell you. This outlet is for mainly wrought iron furniture if you want settees arm chairs you are best to shop around the prices are not cheap for suites and good wood furniture. If you look in the Buzz book on this site it will give you a couple of sites to get an idea of what you can get. If you want electrical items try bartering they will quote prices in £ or ytl.

Hi, I can recommend http://www.homefrontcyprus.com

They have their own factory and will make to your design if required.

They also do full furnishing packages for every room and can include bedlinen, blinds, curtains, duvets.

They made my bed to my own design and have made various other items for me.

Mike or Ebru are who you need to speak with. 0533 861 1801 and you can say Viv recommended you.

Good luck

We were very pleased with the wrought iron furniture which was made to our requirements by Fiskos (next to Astro in Girne). I would not take much notice of prices advertised, as you can always negotiate 'a deal' Fiskos made us curtains with matching bedcovers and lampshades which all look really good, even though we chose simple styles and inexpensive fabrics.

You can e-mail - Bayrum speaks good english

If you want wooden furniture then there is a very good carpenter in karakum just before the Kpet petrol station. its only a little shack and workshop but the guy does turn out a decent bit of furniture and you can haggle with him. It helps if you take along a photo or drawing with dimensions as he only talks a little English, however his English is better than my Turkish!

Have fun

We have bought lots of items from Burhan just past the army base on the main Girne to Lapta Road. Furniture is good and curtains also, in fact everything you could want.

Dilek and the rest of the staff are very helpful. We also had pictures framed by Cenk, which were excellent but not sure that he does that any more.

They also have a shop in Lefkosa. Give them a try.

We have too had items from Fiskos and again, cannot fault them. Very, very helpful and courteous.

Hi - Our Villa is near completion. We spent a weekend in February trawling the shops. We found the best was a shop called Smart + - they are on the left hand side about 1 mile out of Kyrenia toward Alsanjac. The furniture is modern and well made - more the standard you would find in the UK (John Lewis etc). They will negotiate if you buy several items. Good luck
