Hey everyone, just arrived back from Cyprus?

We travelled by Pegasus airlines. Just one question since when do you have to pay extra for food/drink?£3 or £4 for a bottle of water?Really?Bring back Cyprus turkish Airlines I say!

It's been like that for quite a while which is why I prefered CTA when they were still operating - not that the food was any good mind you! Next time take a packed lunch

I found that Pegasus offer the best prices and the highest free luggage allowance. You can then choose whether to eat or not. Personally I find a bag of nuts and some coffee more than enough to keep me going. So, I won't dare grumble in case they increase their prices.

This is the case with most budget airlines

Sleezy jet is the same

BUT the flights are generally cheaper than scheduled airline flights

Hopefully soon Pegasus will have some competition, From Andolou, big signs all around Stanstead,

23 KG plus 8 Kg cabin. Bring it on, Pegasus baggage allowance sucks. I am in the process at the moment of trying to make a complaint about the scales at Stanstead,

Once again approx way out (in their favour) Our luggage had been through 3 airports and we knew we had overweight 7 kg approx but there scales made it 12 KG. So 12 x £8.00

The gentleman behind us had weighed is and he said it was 20 .5 kg , Pegasus made it 25kg, and they always round up not down so 5 Kg extra for him .

So I complained, but nothing they can do , I have to complain to the actual air port, who reckon the scales are calibrated every night.

I feel they have had it to easy since the demise of CTA, Heres to some healthy competition.

Not too sure about " £3 or £4 for a bottle of water !! I bought one in January for 2.50 lira . Maybe it's gone up in price ! You have to remember they are a budget airline ! They do not charge for luggage ( like easy Jet and Ryanair do ).Also Easy jet and Ryanair do not give you free food .Work the price out and i bet there is not much to choose between any of them . The one BIG difference is that only Pegasus fly to North Cyprus ...........easy Jet and Ryanair do not !!I fly Pegasus six times per year and i think they are a good airline .

anyone else found that you can't book andolou jet direct?

Was always CTA in the past, andolou through agent last year after CTA demise, pegasus this year - can't comment on them as not used before but did see when booking that food was extra. Buy a sub at stansted should keep me going during flight.

Keep looking to see if new airline is up and running but all quiet.

What about getting back to reality, you get cheap airfares with a good luggage allowance, and the you complain about you don't get any food and you wish someone to compete against pegasus. There is already hard competition. continue to turn the stones and look for competitors for pegasus, like all airiines are jumping to fly between turkey and the UK.

I wonder why you buy the cheap tickets, instead of just book a ticket with BA or THY, they will serve food as well.

Maybe this is just another link to find something to complain about, as you can find airlines that serve food and its included in the price if you want.

Sure thing message 14. i AM A happy flying pigs (Pegasus) like booiking on line'; picking my seat (if I feel in themood to pay the extra), knowing what luggage i CAN TAKE. On the way back recently nice girl at Stanstead told me I was a kilo over and waited while I took stuff out to put in hand luggage so I did not have to pay. Now THAT is service. I would recommend them not complain about them.

In 7 years I have been dashing backwards and forwards to UK no less than 3 times always using Pegasus ! I have no idea of meal costs now but I recall that I paid approx £9 and the food was excellent and value for money (I can normally peel an orange in my pocket without getting my fingers wet). Thrice the return journies were punctual and they kept me alive. A lot better than some of the White Knuckle Airlines I have had to use over the years.

The first time we flew with CTA some 15 years ago the food was crap - just like most airlines. So for short haul we either do without, or take a sandwich. Long haul flights we have found the food to be edible............but only just....

Travelled with them last week

3 tl half litre of water

10 tl Choice of sandwich

20 tl Choice of hot meal.

Cheaper tham Monarch i believe.

Would you risk your millions on leasing an aircraft, then not try to make a living from it ?

I have to say I had the best meal I've had for years on a Pegasus flight, that beef meal was absolutely gorgeous, I wish Thompsons would do the same.

Agree, we had the beef meal both ways between Munich and Istanbul - it was first-class.

Never touch in flight food, I find the smell awful and the appearance equally grim. I prefer to travel on an empty stomach and bladder thus avoiding the not so nice on board toilets. Makes that first pint of cold lager all the more enjoyable over some sheftali kebab and salad.

Yes, the cost of food is "high" by high street standards, but what Pegasus are doing is nothing out of the ordinary. Go to most train stations in the UK and buy a cup of coffee and then moan about Pegasus's prices. You get a cheaper deal on the tickets and a good service.

I enjoy their beef meal, for 20TL. I am prepared to spend the extra knowing that it was cheaper than Turkish Airlines and, in its time, CTA, and the food and service is much better than CTA in my experience.

And Johnny Lee, I may be wrong, but it isn't Pegasus at Stansted but Servisair who do the booking in on behalf of Pegasus. or at least it has been the times I've flown.

Pegasus all the way for me.

Doesn't bother us one bit. I make a picnic to eat on the way out and then have a lovely time choosing prawns sandwiches or smoked salmon and avocado to have on the way back. We're travelling Anadolou in a couple of months time, so it will be interesting to make a comparison.
