You need to be talking to the Swedish people who 'let' their property to Turkish mainlanders, subsequently to have had a token payment of rent, and subsequently, the entire contents stolen - even the window and door frames. They were not allowed near their own property, as that is 'trespassing'. When they returned to TRNC, their house was just a shell, and nothing they could do about it - the squatters had all the rights!



From what I heard, the man went to his house to take a sofa [belonging to him] out, before it could be stolen - he was arrested by the police and locked up - however, for how long, I don't know. I heard this horror story from a reliable source only a matter of days ago, so cannot comment on the veracity of the [alleged] incident.



Perhaps there is some forum member who could further enlighten us?
