İ have been reading the bad reports on Dopi and just wondered what the best tv option is for someone who only comes over twice a year for a month or so each time. D-Smart? Digi Turk? Any other ideas?

Nilesat, one off payment, we're pleased with it.

We get film channels, Fox series, news channels etc. Acip (Tel: 0533 8402207) from Lapta fitted ours, that was last year and if my memory serves me correctly it cost about 370TL all in.

summertime......it's not so much the TV package as it is the company supplying it and their track record of supplying high quality customer service.

We have 7 year's trading in the TRNC behind us and have been providing high quality customer service during that time.

Read this thread http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/59203.asp and look at our web site http://www.satellitecyprus.com

and have a look at two of our other web sites: http://www.ticproblemsolver.com and http://www.liverockclassics.com

We charge 495TL for a British standard installation, 12 month guarantee and 7 day's a week customer service on any of three telephone numbers and we are proud of our reputation !

BUT don't take my word for it, I'm quite happy to let our customers do the talking, have a look at the CY44 thread that I have linked to above.

Of for Gawd's sake..

to get the fee channels from Nilesat all one needs is a 90cm- 1m dish ( for when it rains HARD) and a Free to air receiver ( one that doesn't have slots for subscription cards - that's about 60 quid in the UK - plus cable.. bobbins

IF your dish blows off course - the installer needs shooting - 1m dishes are tiddlers ..

Ask the person how long they've specialised in Sat TV.. THAT's the important question..

My suggestion - buy from someone who has a shop and it's been around for yogs... be VERY of 'recommendation from folks with low post counts.. or who self promote...

IF you spend two months of the year here, and have SKY at home - get a 1.8m dish installed - you can share 'em with neighbours - and bring out your SKY box and card...

The new SKY boxes ( HD) are TINY and light and when at home in the UK can be connected to an SKY + HD over the network and can play back recordings from the HD box .

AND, be especially careful of people who claim to have no apparent motive to post, but who, if you delve into their murky past, have a list of failed TV and internet business ventures and who therefore, have an axe to grind, and hate succesfull and established TRNC businessmen

We had nilesat installed by Acip (Tel: 0533 8402207) from Lapta two years ago and have not had any problems at all. No need to pay more for the same system.

Seems to me that the original posters who posted some time ago, may have already got sorted out and that now, this thread is just being commented on by the 'usual suspects'

I am prepared to be judged by our customers and leave them to comment about the service that we offer and supply - http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/59203.asp

Comments from mostly (anonymous) axe-grinders who could be competitors or, rivals in disguise are irrelevant in fact, they could be anyone, including the businesses pretending to be someone else and recommending themselves - who knows, but why are they anonymous and can any credibility be attached to what they say or, their dubious recommendations or in deed, criticism. Who are they ?

In fact, the above thread was contributed to by many of our customers in response to the malicious speculation that is repeatedly posted by the person that stillluvit has referred to and for which, he has been repeatedly banned from this forum - fact !

re msg 19 I'll take that as an " I made an untruthful post and don't wish to comment further"....

I am certainly not 'anonymous', don't have a 'murky past' and not your 'competitor' ;)

When have I EVER been wrong in my predictions re the outcome of a sat tv business in Cyprus that makes claims they can't justify ?

On the subject of failed internet businesses.

Do you consider that the failed Internet Club was a resounding success ?

Vincent 1......On the subject of failed internet businesses.

The Internet Club still exists, has increased it's customer base over the last five years and, if you had taken the time to read the thread that I linked to, you will have noticed that it still has many hundred's of customers who have dealt with TIC from Day 1 and still do !

Here are several pictures of approximately 200 of them enjoying themselves at a recent Pearl concert http://www.liverockclassics.com

A bit silly to describe it as a failure, but then, that's what happens when someone lets their prejudices get in the way of the facts.

I don't suppose you are keen to declare who you are - your real name and details etc., but I'll ask all the same. Who are you ?

Another anonymous poster with an axe-to-grind - a rival perhaps, a competitor, a jealous lover ? Who knows, who cares ?

Vincent 1 - even though you are not real, try and keep it real, you owe it to yourself, whoever you are !

Dear Washerman

As you were very quick to respond to a specific negative re your biz, you can imagine I'm as interested to clear up regarding myself... viz

>>claim to have no apparent motive to post, ...<<

1/ my motive is clear - to prevent punters paying up front and an over the top amount ( I'd ask folks to comapre what washerman TRIED to sell at - at how much the price fell, well I questioned the 'mark up' ) - for a grey market product - they you can't possibly 'guarantee' .... you NEVER tell us how you'll cope when OSN are forced to investigate reports of your 'business' making claims it can't deliver.

2/ What is 'murky ' about my past ?

3/ Please list my failed TV / internet biz.... ( this should be good)

4/ I am firm mates with at least two 'TRNC' registered biz' owners and on friendly terms with many others...

5/ YES - I've been banned... and did you notice I 'come back' as what I say is ALWAYS right ?

You REALLY need to brush up on your 'facts'..

Hi Billybob,

As you quite rightly point out, not everyone at the gig was our customer, but there were about 270 people in total at the gig. I said that approximately 200 of them were our customers so, 70+ per cent were our customers.

Thank goodness that there are enough left that aren't our customers to justify the work that I do everyday to get more !

Glad that you thought the concert was good.

Oh dear!! What started out as an innocent query regarding the best tv package to invest in has, once again, degenerated into a slanging match. Why don`t you both, mmmmmm & Washerman, open your own thread and snipe at each other all day and every day to your hearts content, without taking up valuable space for genuine questions?

Dear Eyebob

I'm REALLY sorry, as this is EXACTLY what Washerman wants ..

1/ He's posting links to his biz... I'm not promoting myself or any associated biz

2/ It would just be nice if he would deal with valid questions - I was 'mr nasty' re Dopi - and got banned for behaving JUST the same way... but in the end I was RIGHT..

Same scenario... a guy who is trading in a field knowing one day he will have some explaining to do ....

I posted a link to a CY44 thread that contained comments from satisfied customers that addressed and answered the question that was being asked in this thread.

The thread contained the comments of our customers which was their reaction to the malicious speculation being posted by a member of this forum.

In motivating our customers to start and comment in the thread, the member concerned did more to help publicise our business/service than I could ever do.

Have a look see what you think - http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/59203.asp

Hi Folks,

My mate Ali can fit satellite systems.

No parts that will rust, nylon cable ties to hold the dish in position,

this makes it easy to realign after strong winds, even not so strong winds!

Blu-Tack to fix the cable to your walls, no drilling required.

Boats, Caravans & Mobile Homes are his specialty.

You've heard from the rest.

Now try the best

Contact details on application.
