we live opposite Turtle Bay Beach & it still looks exactly the same as it did back in February/ March time, when the Santa Fe workers left the site. Nothing has happened since then. I think that you may be renting for several years!

Guy's, you must check with Santa Fe before going further as this development is not progressing to plan. I've been advised the the workmen will not be on site until next year - as per sunnyday nothing has progressed for 8 months !

I went to stay in my apartment in Block 32 in March this year and thought it was great. Ok, the gardens were not seeded but it was looking pretty good. It was great to get out there whilst the builders were still on site as you can call them in if u have any teething problems. They are very helpful. I dont know why u would need to rent if u are in one of the completed blocks. Me and my family stayed in ours and had a great time. The only thing im not happy with is the way the fees keep going up....... Thats what we need to sort out.....

Could be worse you could be buying at TBB ! However, I must say it's a fantastic site and Santa Fe are seeking to get progress rolling again.. let's give them a chance.

Hi we are buying at turtle bay beach. Yesterday received a letter telling us it was being postponed for a further couple of years, this is only a few weeks after being told that santa fe were joining forces with another builder to ensure that the site would be completed earlier than Dec 2009. Would love to know of other people buying at turtle bay beach to exchange information and opinions. I live in the West Midlands and am buying through local estate agents.

We went over in October to view our developments in TBB, before the completion date was further revised from end 2009 to end 2012, so taking everything into consideration we opted to buy a Villa on Escape 1. We would like to hear from any one living on Escape 1.

Can advise any buyers to watch out for mortgages on the land left by Santa Fe. We have a property at Olive Grove, and just discovered a £100k mortgage still on the land, although the apartments have just about been completed - 12 months late. Watch for their fittings - not impressed with basic - ask for an upgrade - cos they never even advised of these. Keep pressing and asking questions and make a nuisance of yourself ... and best of luck, cheers for now,Steve

In these very hard times perhaps it could be better and safer to buy an apartment that’s ready build ?

Was in Cyprus Today a couple of weeks ago. Santa Fe are facing a €23m compensation claim by the former Greek Cypriot owner of the land at Turtle Bay Beach, at Tatlisu.

Yes and the article also said that the development was complete, so it just shows how you should not believe everything that you read

Oh god this doesnt sound good. I got an email from Santa Fe saying I have 3 options, either wait for Turtle Bay Beach to be completed which they say would be 3/4 years, but they are saying sales are not as good as they thought and the area would be quite isolated. Or I could take legal action, which they say will take a couple of years and could be costly. Or go for one of their other properties which are a bit more expensive and they say will be completed in June 09. I do not know what to do? Has anyone else been given these options?

teebee, we were given those options last September, before completion date was extended to 2012, we bought a completed Villa in Escape1 Alsancak, and are just a bit concerned about the land registration, but we will be out there in March, so hope to have it sorted.

Hi TeeBee We were also buying on Turtle Bay and were given the same options as you back in December. What position are you in now? Have you taken the option of another apartment elsewhere? How have you found Sante Fe? Look forward to hearing from you.

Turtle Bay Beach will NOT happen, it has been mothballed indefinitely. As for taking legal action against SantaFe, this IS North Cyprus, it will take years to get to court. I read on another thread that the local belediye has ordered that the shells of blocks that were started have to be demolished and the site cleared. Its such a shame, a beautiful locality, it was my dream to live there, but dreams do not always come true!
