The situation for the rest of the UK and Ireland is to be reviewed at 1300 LT today.
No one is currently predicting what will happen over the next 24 hours.

| Despite talking tough earlier today, Ryanair have now cancelled all flights to/from Scotland. They say they have been 'forced' to do so by CAA/IAA - I smell a court case coming on!
The meteorological situation is looking bad from Thursday as the wind is expected to swing to a northerly direction thus driving the cloud further south.
Liz, I hope you make it afe and sound.

| we have had gale force winds in scotland for the last 2 days , hail stones earlier today , temps 7c , abnormal weather for this time of year , hope the ash cloud misses us , we need some sun , our summer time is running out ? |
