would you care to enlighten me ?? as to where you got all this incorrect information , and why you felt you had to repeat the rumour before even substantiating its contents ? with someone who actually knows ! and not some busy body who thought it would be clever to accuse without even thinking as to whether it was true or not

Hello Simbas,

I was in the Moon for dinner on a sunday evening with Linda and I must say the food, (got talked in to having the sunday roast) was excellent.

We sat the other end from the outdoor bar area and it was quite amusing to see all the ex-pats around the bar, some for pre dinner drinks and others on the pi@@. they seemed to be in one big clique and I could imagine the kind of crap that was being spoken about. Just the kind of place for sad people to be putting out rumours.

Cigar smoke and the like going up in to the night, men posing & boasting about their old lifes in England and the women looking one another up and down in that kinda look making out they are all lovey dovey etc. I would say that most would have driven home well over the limit.

Not my kinda hang out I must admit. One thing I will say the staff were very helpful and friendly. one lady patted my tummy after I had eatren up all my dinner!

For food and the odd night. Its ok. and rumours if a saddo

Don't be so disloyal, Tiggy. These are the people you want to mix with if you go to any of these places. Same as people who want to share a residential complex with them. I suppose it's easier for those used to living on an estate.

Yes, one would like to know what is being talked about. It does look

as if the original posting has been removed. As an old customer of

the place would like to know

It may be that this is the cause: http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/5193.asp .

If this link doesn't work, its the post entitled Troy Lake - Any more news, dated 3rd October.

See Pilgrim's comments Nos 7 and 15, I think this is what caused the upset. Could be wrong mind so don't shoot me if I am. If this isn't it, I have no idea!

Hello RTgirl,

You will not be shot as you are spot on.

Simbas is rightly upset that rumors, which I prefer to call lies have been made about her and her lovely home.

Wonder if Pilgrim can get the 2 people who he alleges spouted all this garbage in the first place to let all know where they got it from or why they statred it up?

Simbas does not deserve this kind of treatment or those involved with the ongoing Building works.

P.

hi tiggy , bless you , i am at a loss really , and i really do not know where this is all going , ive only been there once myself and did,nt have any kind of conversation with the lady who served us other than food talk . i can only think that the true person behind all this is doing it to detract suspicions from themselves for whatever reasons

Simbas sorry still a bit confused but hope you get things sorted and as Moonoverwater says get in touch with them and discuss what has gone on. I hope its nothing to do with them personally as they are good people.

Unfortunately Simbas NC can thrive on gossip so don't let it get to you.

Apologies,

I,m sorry I mentioned where I heard rumours regarding Troylake, It was in no way a reflection on a Simbas ,s integritty just talk by concerned people as to the plight of some buyers of this development. I,m afraid Pat you have misunderstood the circumstance, just that someone was happy with troy lake , they must have bought the showhome, it was just a remark, the person who made it I know dos n,t know you or any of the members of board.

The owners of the moon of the water , were not party to conversation or are aware what customers talk about

The owners of the restaurant are honourable and extremely pleasant people

and have never indulged in any gossip mentioning Troylake or you Pat.

I apologise to you Pat, but I never ment to cause you any concern and I know I have never intended to cause any distress to anyone on the board, but only convey matters of general interest to the forum in the interest of existing and potential buyers of property in the TRNC.

Hi All,

I am also glad to see this seems to have been resolved. I have been visiting the Moon for over five years now, and have always found them to be lovely people, indeed we have held a couple of company functions here, to included our Xmas party in a few weeks. Their food is wonderful, and the location is also very lovely. This area is a lot quieter than Kyrenia, and we are lucky to have this excellent restaurant here. Simbas., if you are around on the 19th December in North Cyprus you are more than welcome to our Xmas bash. If last year is anything to go by, then wear something stretchy!!!

Hi Sean and Sue,

Sorry, cant make tonight, but thanks for the offer.

A few locals have been asking me if you are doing anything for Halloween, as there is nothing posted on the Bogaz forum. Perhaps if you are you could post it.

See you soon!

Maria + all the rest of us!

First post and one probably going to attract derision and a dash of who does he think he is. I have read most of the posts over the last few months to get the flavour and info before our move (and really helpful this site is to ). I had no idea what this post was about as many others did, however that is not my subject. Post 3, what a vicious, nasty, small minded narration. The author painted a picture of everyone at the bar as arrogant old money toffs with snobby wives and empty lives. He imagined what they were talking about in one paragraph and then claimed they were bragging of their old lives in England in another. Make your mind up were you eaves dropping or not. Then to claim in a broad brushstoke that most were drink driving their way home. The whole post struck me as sneering, condescending, and superior. If you think so poorly of the place and especially the clientel why go there and inflict such hardship on yourself.

Pt 2

The whole matter whatever it was, was settled to the satisfaction of the three parties and apologies offered and accepted, yet Tiggy did not attempt any retraction to the people he slagged off or the restaurent, just offered his custom again for Sunday Dinner.

If anybody is saddo on this post it is the author of post 3 and if the restaurent had any sense they would offer him the door.

I hope we do not meet many people so bitter and condiscending when we move there, but from reading this forum there doesnt seem to be that many people like him.

Hi notthereyet welcome to the forum { i think } thats right you have no idea what my post was about .and at this moment in time i dont feel i should explain or need go into the problem again , after the problem having been resolved . i don't think you can make such a slur on a persons character merely on the basis of what you interpret from a posting i would say in tiggy's defence , that you could'nt be more wrong about him , he embraces nc life and the people there with a passion , he is helpful and kind to a fault , and i have personally found him to be honest and truthful in his observations in all things , but thats how it is with him he says it as it is , you will always know where you are with him ,its a shame a few more are not like him , sorry to shatter your image of him .

have a good day , simbas

Hello notthereyet,

Read your mesage with interest. I wonder if you were in the restaurant/bar on the night I wrote my observations......I was having a little dig at the people that had made Simbas upset with their tittle tattle and sad way of going about things. I am not going to go in to all of it on this as I thought it was over. Even the Moonover the water managements messages 21,22,25,28,31, & 32 have not mentioned me.

Paul on message 24 apologised and I suppose we all thought this was the end of things.

As for me being a saddo and small minded.....well thats your opinion. We will be going to the place again and may have a few at the bar this time.

When you do move over be careful as a lot of ex-pats do enjoy a few beers and like to drive home. We do not drink & Drive.

Finally I have no opinion of you, Only understand all the facts before shooting yourself in the foot. I myself have a few toes missing from past mistakes!

Regards,

T.
