Detailed Advice

I have just joined the forum and hope someone can help with detailed advice on driving to the TRNC from the UK.

This question has been asked many times I know. I have been a guest on this forum for some years and have read many items from people who have travelled by different routes, without much detail.

My wife and I would like to travel by road as much as possible in our motorhome.

If someone could advise on best & safest route. an idea of costs. Best places to stay the night. We would like to take our time and enjoy the trip if it is not to expensive.

Thank you,

You'll find a (free) map with two tested routes " UK -> TRNC " here:

▶ [ http://www.allcrusades.com/CD/index.html ]

Click this line: | From UK to TRNC on your own four wheels! Towns, distances and more | near the bottom of the page.

None of the links on the page

http://www.allcrusades.com/CD/index_2.html

are working for me Hans. They are all giving 404 not found errors (free download and more details links)

@ msg 5, erolz: Thanks, Erol, but I can't reproduce the 404 error message! All's working fine. General solution: empty your web browser's cache and click the link again. Let me know if this helps.

P.S. Reading msg # 6 I think there's nothing wrong with the link - a link either works or it doesn't!

I've checked the URL and the one below should take you to the page where you can download:

▶ [ http://is.gd/dLs7wn/keywords_free_download_of_map_UK2TRNC ].

That works and the link to download file on left works too.

For info the link on the page http://www.allcrusades.com/CD/index_2.html

goes to

http://www.allcrusades.com/cyprusdownload/cypmap/Uk2TRNC/UK_to_TRNC_map.html

the working link is

http://www.allcrusades.com/CD/cypmap/Uk2TRNC/UK_to_TRNC_map.html

looks like the problem on the orginal page given is 'cyprusdownload' where as it looks like it should be 'CD'

Agreed, Erol! I changed (shortened) some folder names in the site on my computer and forgot to synchronize with the server... :-(

Cyprusguest the doanload link is on the left hand side of the page where it says

"Download your map

"UK to TRNC on

your own four

wheels" to your hard disk:

This works and downloads a password protected zip file. To extract the contents you need to email Hans and ask for the password I think.

I've added a low resolution sample map - you can now check the map first before you download:

▶ [ http://is.gd/dLs7wn/keywords_free_download_of_map_UK2TRNC ].

I've just sent 13 emails with the password to unzip the file. Please check your inbox if you requested the file (and your mail Junkbox if you can't find the email right away!). Have a safe and nice drive!
