Just a quick question, maybe some of you expats can answer.

I know you pay to get onto a lot of the beaches over there but do they shut down over winter and what is the open season.

Can you get free access them if they are closed

Thanks

All beaches are free at any time of the year nobody including hotels have the right to deny you access to the beach.

Do not pay what they ask if the continue to deny you call the police it is in the TRNC constitution free access.

Hey Hippo

I love your picture. You look cute

Is this really true what you say? Even the 'Escape' beach? Where can one get a copy of the constitution?

hi there hippo you are right to an extent

but you are also wrong most beaches are free especially in famagusta but in kyrenia for example escape - turtle - deniz kizi all charge to go on the beach they have an agrement with the local councils that they pay for the up keep of the beaches and pay taxes on all monies earned from the beach i.e entrance - sunbeds - jet ski hire etc etc in the winter thou they are all closed so it will be quite hard to charge when they are not there

Thanks for all your responses, I didn't think they were open in the winter and therefor free access would be available. Does anyone know when they close and open again for summer.

I worked in Sicily for 2 years and their summer season was from the end of April to the end of September. apparently the water was to cold for them during this time.

Many thanks all

I don't Know what your missing? I only commented from experience that I'd never come across a beach on east coast and Karpas areas where there isn't free access at all times .Not yet familiar with other areas, but was aware of TRNC ruling and hope its adheared to.

Aligadi beach is great in the winter for dog walking(and yes i carry a poopa scoopa), last feb however they were getting alot of people having BBQ's/drunken parties on the beach in the evening, so at dusk they closed it.
