I love:- the people, the food, rafters, efes, the fact that everyone speaks to you, iced coffee by the harbour, the sunshine, kebaps, the fact that my hubby can have beer and i can have a coffee without feeling like i'm some form of nutter, the call to prayer at the mosque, DANCE fm and its constant playing of Rhianna. I used to love Erdeners restaurant but that has now gone, the fact that my skin is no longer dry and orrible due to the chalky water I have to put up with in the UK, I could go on but i wont.

I hate - leaving to go back home :-(

just heard that our complex was rained on that much that sand/sludge had entered one of the pools , within hours the pool had been emptied and refilled with the help from the locals , we have been told all on site has now returned to it's original condition . I just love and apreciate NORTH CYPRUS .

Hi Pipie,

Hope you dont mind me contradicting the fact that the pool was emptied, if it is the one at Tatlisu it wasn't emptied (no need to empty) but it was cleaned efficiently and it will happen continually unless action is taken to prevent repeats.

Punk rocker , hello my favourite sparring partner , no you are wrong , i had confirmation form an owner who witnessed staff and locals emtying the pool using buckets and anything that they could lay there hands on , this went on until the pool was emptied .it is now back to its original condition she assures us . Credit where it is due .

Peace ,quiet, tranquility, sun, value for money especially houses.

Great people, if you are using local cypriot tradesmen, especially through Greg at Glencoe you get things done quickly, unfortunately unlike developers using Turkish labour.

AND 19% interest does make a nice bit of icing on the cake.

I would promote north cyprus but when you are messed around by your builder who keeps making promises that they don,t keep we find it hard to say good things at this moment in time.

In our apartment during Eid with friends who were visiting TRNC for first time,

a neighbour, who we had never seen before, (apparently renting above us), knocked to give us home made sweet pastries. We did lots of smiling and thanking in our best Turkish and our friends were amazed by this kind gesture from a stranger.

We have also had punctures on 3 occassions and locals always rush to help.

We also love the mountain views

Hope you enjoy you time when you come to NC.

I live and would recommend Lapta. What sort of property are you looking for?

We have a villa for sale in secluded area of Lapta that is close to centre of the village. Has ready title deeds.

Yinglis,

We really liked, and are buying, a property in Ozankoy. There are 4 beautiful villas each with 3 bedrooms, surronding a shared pool. 2 are now sold, the other 2 are for sale - talk to Mustapha at Unwin estate agecy in Kyrenia. If you mention my name he will then know which property you mean.

Hi PIPIE,

Which complex at Tatlisu did the sand/sludge go into the swimming pool?

Was this building site sludge or if your site is finished where did this stuff come from?

Will it re-occur?

Hi lobylud , our site is finished , Sea Terra Marina Tatlisu . I presume because of the heavy rains the sand was washed down from a terrace that is above the swimming pool the raised area is on a slope , hence the heavy rain and sand washed down into the childs pool , but as i said all was put right within hours by dedicated staff and the help of the locals .

I feel sure the present M/C will put in an action plan to hopefully stop this re-occuring . Hope this helps . It helps me promote TRNC , knowing my investmant is being looked after .

Hi Pipie, glad it was sorted out quickly, our site is next to yours at Sweetwater bay and I'm led to believe we had a similar problem after the rains but our site isn't finished yet so there is still builders mess around. Luckily there wasn't any water in the pools so it probably wasn't so bad. As you say hopefully an action plan will be put into place to stop it happening again.

No doubt being so close we will bump into each other in the future.

Take care,

Loby.
