Kervansaray Beach is a couple of TL for a deckchair and brolly each - 3TL last year, haven't been since. It's good and safe swimming, but tends to get packed. Other beaches, like Escape and the hotels can charge 35TL and above, but often you get a free local drink. Depending on where you are based, there are some "free" beaches in the Karsiyaka area. Off the beaten track. TRNC law says all beaches are free, but law and practice of here is a different matter. Hope this helps

Sardunya Bay in Lapta has a free beach, with showers, changing rooms, toilets and beach cafe.

Directions:- From Lapta head towards Karsiyaka, past Silver Rocks on your right, past Hos Bes supermarket on your left, next right at Signpost for Sardunya Bay.

Lovely place.

Escape beach is 15TL, includes lounger, cushion, and parasol along with toilet facilities and on site food, beverage services. Acapulco is 20TL for similar service but you also have the use of their outdoor pool and water slide complex. Both beaches are nice and clean with safe swimming.

There are free beaches but these tend to have litter and can get rather crowded.

Kervansaray costs now TL 5. Mare Monte Beach in Alsancak is still free of charge.

Alagadi Beach is free, no sunbeds or umbrellas but a very nice beach restaurant that has recently been refurbished and doesn't charge the earth for drinks or food.

Palm Beach, Famagusta, arguably the best in all Cyprus, charge 4 TL per sunbed includes use of loo and outside shower.

All the ones Famagusta side are free but you pay if you want to use the sunbeds. Famagusta city beach is great and was 4ytl last year for beds all day.

Iskele beach is also great and 3ytl for beds and brollies all day. Both have good little bars on and are cleaned every morning.

Bafra was also 3ytl but is funny about you taking your own drinks on.

Plenty of families use their own chairs but for 3/4 ytl is not worth the hassel of lugging chairs with you.

Reading these posts makes me wonder if any members have ever seen a "Real "beach ,with white coral sand, rather than the beaches like Aligadi which to me looks like red Builders sand..... The Karpas has nice beaches..........but the others to me are a little "Make Do,were on our Hols"......

There is a beach (Sunset ?) next to Denis Kizi on the Kyrenia side which is very well kept, has a decent cafe, and used to charge 5tl admission last year. Denis Kizi beach is very good but used to charge 6tl last year. Has very good facilities and a swimming pool. Ok cafe

If you go to Escape, be aware that the food and drink charges are very high. You cannot take any of your own in. It could be a very expensive day out. I believe that you need a second mortgage to buy ice creams. Look at the earlier posts on this board.
