Diana Beach opened yesterday with new enthusiastic management. Already the road and beach is 100% better. The entrance charge is 5TL. This gives you an umbrella and the chance to lie on your towel on the clean beach. If you require a beach bed or chair, they can be rented for a little extra. Food and drinks are available at sensible prices.

Just come and give it a try, before making comments.

There should be no entrance charges on public beaches.

And can you take your own sandwiches and drink your own water. And why can't you go onj there for nothing taking your own umbrella, or going without. sounds as if it is still a touch of the Mafioso.

I do not think they can stop you from taking your own umbrella, they do not own the beach. I am sure that you do not have to pay to use the beach and access the sea.

Thing is, if you need the loo........./shower....?

Seems like a modest charge but if you only want to drive there to go for a swim and lay on the sand then it should not cost anything.

Have you seen the beach and the shore at the end of the winter season at Diana beach??

If you havent been there, believe me youve no idea what Im talking about...

All kinds of trash was carried to the shore from the sea, and the floods carried all the trash from the land to the sea shore. It was completely mess and the beach was covered with plastics and broken bottles.

The floods also take away the whole road too.

So, if there is a new management and theyve made a new road and cleaned all that trash from the shore to serve you, yes, I believe we all need to pay for this service, for a fresh, clean, non broken beer bottles left overs shore.

If notting has made to that shore, forget swimming/sunbathing, believe me you just could not even walk there.

I really love that place and to tell you the truth instead of paying a fortune for acapulco (being robbed) Id be very happy to pay this modest amount for a clean beach where I can take my fruits and water with me.

Agreed Baykol.M y reasons for asking were that I was given to understand in previous years one was NOT allowed to take one's own food or water or umbrella or chair onto the beach.

I agree that paying for facilities is acceptable, but not everyone wants to eat at the cafe, especially with children.

Me, I don't go, cos it is no dogs. My dog is the best critter in the world, but rules is rules - i accept that, but leaving the dog at home to go on a beach where I cannot even take my own water is not my scene, but I relaly do hope that the new management make a go of it, because I know keeping anywayt up to scratch is difficult and costly.

good luck to them , they put a lot of effort and expense to make it nice. no payers can maybe use the bit of beach round to the left of it.. rather pay 5 tl for a beach that is fit to use than nothing for an unloved dirty shit tip..

Of course the sailing group was there, but think they have moved on. Not sure about that, but that was quite an attraction for the beach. However, I believe that did not run too smoothly on occasions either.

are you SURE it is new management and not just the same one with a tart up?

access to the beach is free , if i want a sunbed or umbrella then a charge is ok , stop this illegal changing for access to the free beaches it drives people away not makes tourists think twice about coming to the TRNC ,FREE BEACHES more customers am sure they would like a drink and something to eat sunbeds etc

We were there again yesterday, it was wonderful, and the beach was full to capacity. The food was excellent , probably the best fish meal we have had in 28 years here. Everything was very clean. The rubbish will be moved this week. The new managers are very polite and helpful.

Groucho. I should have put 'tart' or should I? Oh not, I should have put 'tart-up' with the hyphen taking the naughty lady out of it.

Been doing a bit of homework and understand the new management are indeed keen, polite, helpful. Fish and chips and salad can be bought for 15tl and falling off the plate and the sailing club is back in full force. Reason for the rubbish - I believe the former owners did not pay their dues and so the trash collected by the new management haqs not yet been removed.

so, new sailors required for the sailing club - a fabulous thing I would love to do, but 'himself' sits with a grim face, wearing two Mae Wests (vests, not tarts) and is not happy - but I might take a look just to see the improvements. All umbrellas and sun beds are new I believe, so could be a great place during the summer.

There will be a gate at the entrance to stop revellers dropping their trash on the beach at night. The beach will be kept spotless, and no more hassle from the previous tenant/owner.

Access to the beach is free, they can only charge for sunbeds if you use them
