| I came home this evening to find a Black and White pup left at my gate, I cannot home it can anyone help? It looks like a collie type, but not sure it is so young, I think it should really still be with it's mum. |

| Such a shame - poor little thing...you're right at only 4 - 6 weeks old it def should be with it's mum wherever she may be. Would KAR or a vet be able to help/advise?? |

| Although not ideal...a pup can survive without mum at 4 weeks old...Mr Teds mum developed mastitis when he was 3 weeks old and it was impossible for her to feed her litter..however, good old porridge oats with milk for a week and slow introduction of regular dog food was all it took...all pups grew up fine and healthy! Don't worry about the pup being so young, there's a chance you maybe wrong about the age in in any case...it's not so hard to raise one so young....surely someone out there would love a tiny pup to love and hold...? | This has happened to me lots of times. We currently have 6 dogs, of which only 2 were sought by us. The rest just showed up and we gave them a home. And, tell you what, I wouldn't be without any of them. Lovely characters each one. James, if you REALLY can't keep it (and I would quite understand, perhaps you don't live here full time and can't abandon it when you go back home) then take a photo of it and ask your local supermarket to display it with your phone number. You might be surprised how easy it is to find a home for it. |
