Natasha;

There is no standard rental agreement used by Lawyers here. A rental agreement is usually drawn between the tenant and the owner, covering related areas they agree to be taken into account. Many tenancy agreements drawn by the owner's solicitors weigh heavily (sometimes unjustly) in favor of the owner, and use too many Ottoman terms for even a TC to understand!

Recently, faced with such an agreement from the owners, I got together with the tenants and drew up a new "tenancy agreement" protecting the interests of all. They were both happy with the content and accepted the new version as the better one.

The fact is, agreements drawn up by solicitors are not necessarily the best ones and usually the owners of property have no say in its contents. Most of the time, they are recipes for disaster, so that there is potential future work for them.

I will try and locate the agreement, but contact me with more details, on turkishlessons1to1@yahoo.com if you need more help
